• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Swap 610 for WR 300

Rough Rider

Husqvarna
AA Class
I also posed this in the 2 stroke section to get a perspective from both sides of the fence.

I have the opportunity to swap my very neat '08 610 with 7K kms on the clock for an almost new '13 WR 300. What do you guys think?

Unfortunately it will make my my beloved '08 RM250 which is sorted for woods riding redundant and I would probably sell that. My KTM 950SE will be roped in to do the work the 610 did before.

Sounds fine if you want a light and powerful dirt weapon and no desire to do any pavement time to speak of.

There you go....I just traded my '11 449 for a '11 WR250 (plus cash)...if I want to do pavement I will buy a street bike (again). Where your 610 is older than the 300 something near a straight trade sounds reasonable to me.

I wouldn't.

But before anyone gets excited, it's not because I don't like the WR. See my bikes; I have a 2006 610 and a 2012 WR300.

Here's the thing: you already have a good woods 2-stroke in your RM, and it sounds like you have it set up the way you like it. It doesn't make sense to replace your 610 with a WR.

Now, selling your RM and buying a WR, that might make some more sense, but honestly, if the RM is sorted, why bother?

I love love LOVE my WR, but if I had to cull the herd I would sell it and keep my 610. If you can only have one bike, the 610 is a really, really good choice.

Oh, I totally agree. But, it seems to me like a 2-stroke, a 610, and a 950SM is pretty darn good specialization. It's pretty similar to my garage. Trading the 610 for another 2-stroke seems like a step in the wrong direction...

If I came across a blue plated WR250\300 that someone would trade even for, I'd do it. But my needs may well be different. What I thought I wanted back then & what I want now are quite different. Now I just want a street legal 2 smoke with pavement being a necessary evil to connect trails.

I haven't heard of this yet. How do you like it? Atleast you still have a 511 :)

I have to say I agree with Kyle on this one.
