• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Suzuki Thanks Roger DeCoster for 15 Years of Racing Together

He would fit well with KTM. They need someone who knows the US racing scene, and has had success here, as well as someone who knows what it is going to be like for the Euro riders KTM is bringing over next year.

Allessi for some unknown reason had his best usa race by far and first podium of the year last week before t was announced DeCoaster was coming... He was been riding like a wussy all season and maybe he got wind DeCoster was on the way and realizes he needs to put forth some effort now to save his ride or look good for his last few races ....

I've never read where it says any riders job is in cement ... I can't believe ktm will not can his a$$ if DeCoster does not want him ...

Not sure how long Alessi's contract is for, but if it isn't for 2 years at least, I doubt that KTM want's him back.

Allessi has done his job this year as far as KTM is concerned by the debut of the 350 and showing the world it can hang with 450's. I cant see KTM hanging on to him unless his results go upward.

Would be great to see Roger D. work with a European factory.

hey clay!

I merged the 2 threads :)

Soon the announcement of where he is going will be made, that would be my guess.

Yep and if not for Mikkola, he would have almost a complete decade long string of 500cc world GP championships.... Mikkola was the only guy to beat DeCoster on a regular basis ...

I did not know he was a trials champ.
nope not the kind you are thinking. ISDT was the name of the six days before changing it to ISDE. He was a Belgian Trophy team rider.

Actually, RD was the 1964 Belgian Observed Trials Champion too. In addition to his Six Days stuff. I hear he had some success at MX, too.
Roger has mad skillz.

Roger Decoster to KTM....

OH know watch out big four cause the Euros are coming.....

maybe finally some big names on Orange.....

Looking for DeSalle, Muskin, Roczen.....YEEE HAAA

would love to see 2 450s and 2 250s on each coast...then 6 KTMs in outrdoor...I bet some big names follow...maybe even Dungey or Reedy....

Yep .. the 350 grabs the light from the 310 :( ...

ktm now has the bikes , 3 sizes and the manager for SX \ MX racing in the usa ... They even have the 2t to go out there also I think ... must be great for their fans and riders to follow ... I expect ktm to be hitting on all cylinders on all fronts next year ...

WOW - Everts in Europe and now DeCoster in USA, the orange brand will only get stronger and stronger now!:applause:

Hopefully this leads to a lot of podium finishes for KTM. It's about time for a change of scenery in motocross. Instead of the same bikes winning every week. Who knows, maybe we'll see Huskys on the winner's stand someday.

With so many riders changing rides and the asian suits not showing alot of interest in MX in general ... now is a good time for Husky \ bmw to make a move ... I think alot of the young riders on different brands of bikes would like it and this would inject some life back into the racing here ...
