  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Suspension revalve and refresh

reveille

Husqvarna
Pro Class
My 2012 TE310 has been flawless all season and its time to give the suspension some love in the off season. I swapped springs in May to match my riding weight. 52 front and 6.5 rear. That is all I did and it was good for my limited experience. My question is this, where is a good place to send my suspension to have it revalved, seals changed and fluids serviced etc? Also, is this something fairly easy for a fair mechanic to tackle? TIA

personally - i'd find a good suspension tuner/shop that is quasi local to you. they will know the area you ride, and if it's not right, it's quick to drop back off for some tweaks.

we have several around where I live - marshall's racing, TBT, and Factory Connection (central). Probably other's too....I have used factory connection on two bikes and couldn't be happier, my brother also has used them and when they missed the mark on his revalve, he took it back in the following week and had tweaks done (free of charge) so he was satisfied. the local part of this equation is important, IMO, for quick turn around and support.

I have MXTech near me but they don't know husky. They did a couple past bikes for me and are top notch IMO. Jeremy said he would do my TE but it would be his first and they do tons of suspensions but mainly Japanese MX and wp. I would go here but I am curious who knows the husky setups better.

ah, yeah didn't take that into consideration - i've got a '13 TXC310, so it's all KYB (yamaha). parts and experience is pretty prevalent everywhere with these forks/shock

I've used "Dicks Racing Suspension" on my Marzocchi's and Ohlins rear shocks. I have also gone to"Racetech" for Goldvalves installation for sure on my WP forks. They make the "Gold valves" and sale them to everybody else if your going for a complete revalve. They also make some pretty darn good springs. "Slavens racing" probably knows more about the WP setups than anybody in my opinion for rear WP shocks especially. He also sells progressive wound springs.

Send it to Zip Ty Racing.
They have done my TXC 510 baja racer and my TC 450 mx bike.
I could not be more happy with the results.
both are way faster than I am but allow me to go to my limits and stay controllable. very comfy.
Both revalves, I talked to Ty about what I was experiencing and what I wanted.
I thing he nailed it both times.
All the guys at Zip Ty are racers and are customer oriented.
Every time I have gone there, I have been treated first class and they have gone above what was expected.
If you live in Cali, Hit me up and I will let you try my bikes and feel there work.
