  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Thinking of sending in my forks and shock to have them dialed for my weight/riding style/terrain.

Whos had it done? What was the cost? Who would you recommend? I see zipty is our in house vendor.

Thanks Tinken. while im trying to budget, what is a good number to budget for parts on a fork and shock revalve/re-spring? I know i am waay to fat for the springs and valves that came stock.

I jsut need a budgetary quote. wont hold you to it.

Also what is a typical turn-around time? riding season is here. i dont want to be down too long.

Had mine done a couple of years ago by Drew at WER. Great service, and it was night and day handling and comfort wise. I think it cost about $900 total. He has pricing listed on his website and is a cafehusky sponsor.

Usually about a week turn around time. Springs are 110 for forks and 110 for rear, valves and seals are 10-12 dollars. Our springs are Eibach and digitally tested before going into your suspension. $550-600 depending on which forks you have and what needs to be replaced or machined.

I used ZipTy last time and really liked what they did for my TE511. Exactly what I asked for. Prices are very reasonable and lots of husky experience.

I'm thinking of getting my shock shortened some. If I send the shock to Zipty, do I just include a note as to how much I want the suspension lowered? One inch overall is what I'm after.
Do you guys replace the seal every time?

Yes, be sure to send a note of what you wish done. No we don't have to replace the seals if not needed, but will if damaged. We do replace the oil every time.
If you are shipping, a gun case works with an old pair of jeans. Forks goes in the legs of the jeans, shock in the center.

I used les at LT-Racing Im about the same weight as you and took about 10 days from when I sent them to I got them back and was night and day difference loved them. Would use him again.
