• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Warning, no real Husky content other than the conversation with the guy on the XR600 about buying a new txc510... :applause: I did think a lot about where my husky would have been better than my WR for the aggressive pace we were keeping...

We had a pretty big group yesterday at the start of the day and had a good 20 mile ride of some of the tough stuff.

The riders were...
Margie - crf450
steve - kdx220
Tim - CRF450 (pin it to win it)
Cliff - crf230 (girlfriends bike)
Josh - WR250f
Sean - CR250r
Mark - XR600
old school CR guy forgot his name - old cr250 with a bald rear tire... it was flat though...
Me - WR250f

We staged at Cliff's house.

First trail of the day following Margie for a bit then trying to catch Tim.

second trail following Mark on the xr600

Third trail, I wanted to get good fast footage of Tim but cliff took off first so you get to see Tim's killer pass on Cliff. I eventually get past Cliff and almost catch Tim before he misses a turn.

More of the same, me chasing Tim. He crashes then gets back up like nothing happened and takes off like his hair is on fire.

This is a more technical section with some tough climbs, I made a couple dumb mistakes and Tim got away from me.

More chasing Tim, until he almost took his head off on a tree...

More fun with Tim, at a slightly more sedate pace...

Margie on the 450

Steve on the KDX... at this point we lost Sean and the guy on the old school CR250. They headed back via gravel roads.

Snowy road to the bridge gap jump...

Someone drug the bridge into the creek... Cliff tried to use it, while everyone else attempted to jump the gap.

Tim made it

Cliff eventually got through

Steve goes for it.

From another angle...

Margie tries the hands free method...

Mark on the xr600 now knows what not to do.

more in a bit...

Lotta videos to follow. Looks like a great time except for taking a bath in the creek. Dang, that would just be too cold.:D

Nice stuff.

Great trails, very clear footage.

Just a nice sprinkle of the white for dust control.:D

Sweet video clips. I recognize the long hill climb from one of Kelly's video's, awesome! I've been looking for another GoPro on eBay for quite a while, can't wait so I can post some pics/clips.

Too much Jap for me. It's like watching Speed Racer without the English translation.

We have had insanely great weather this year for December. It has been cold but dry, the trails were perfectly loamy with some ice thrown in for good measure. We even had some dust in spots, where there wasn't snow. The rain begins tomorrow, the trails will look different very shortly. :banghead:

Later,

I remember my first enduro with Puget Sound Enduro Riders (Pissers for short:D)in January in the snow and rain, riding over wet slash cut and through ground cover that just covered all the little clear cut stumps and bogs so you couldn't see them till you were right on top of them. Streams gushing and uphills of wet clay with exposed tree roots on them. Okay, maybe I don't miss that so much.:busted::lol:

Good memories, really....and I got third place in my class.
