• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

What a great event! Held at Packwood, WA. Combines a twisty maze on asphalt with some pristine single track AND some old building foundation obstacles including a 5 ft loading dock jump. You transition between asphalt and woods several times in the 7 mile loop. For me the asphalt was a bit of a rest period and felt very nice at my old man pace (open vet 1.5 hour course ). Weather was perfect, blue skies and a predicted high near 80F.

The txc performed flawlessly. Tubliss at both ends running 8psi, LTR massaged suspension, Motosportz damper, Motoz Enduro s/t's both ends and JD Powersurge Efi tweaker to round out the mechanical bits.

My goal was to finish the race and that did occur successfully! Don't know where i placed but it wasn't last, hehe. Am awaiting some pics from some friends to hopefully post here later.

Perfect day with friends and awesome conditions!

Packwood is probably in the foothills of Mt St Helens... There are some very good trails heading back north into the Gifford Pinchot National Forrest from there ... Boundary trail #1 stretches 30 miles or so and is very good riding where ever you can get on it at ...

He knows the area well / has ridden Gifford. The Gifford trails are SOUTH of Packwood. There are a few North called the Sawtooths.

Boundary 1 trail is not north of Packwood? Seems like have heard of Sawtooths but never ridden there...

In any event, Boundary 1 has many spurns off it for riding in the Randle area off hwy 12 also for riding ...

Here is a map ... Randle is back west of Packwood ... Take RD 131 out of Randle and head south to GPNF... What this map does not show clearly is a 'Y' intersection just a couple miles down the road 131... This allows 2 different entries into GPNF ... Forrest RDs 23 and 25 maybe ...

Two different areas of GPNF and both have great riding after the snow is gone
