    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Don't know if there has been a post related to this. Please bear with me. Thanks.

The manual says a top speed of 175kph.

Has anyone actually attempted to validate this info.?

I know this bike is not into high speed but would want to know though.

I had the guts yesterday to test and at around 125-130kph the bike began to really shake hard and almost crash. Damn! Good thing I was able to hold on to the bars and slowed down.. It was like 5 to 10 seconds of rattle. I was stupid though that I did that with hard side bags and the top case installed though the bags are all empty. Rear shock setting was factory and tire pressure were at standard 35 and 28 psi rear and front.

What could have caused this issue? What was the top speed you have reached.

Appreciate your thoughts on this.
 
Have a look at your front wheel to make sure it's round and no warps or dents in the rim. Many years ago I had a bike with a dent in the rim which was fine but caused headshake only between 65 and 80kph.
 
What i realised in my Terra is: as much as front tyre has been losing marks, the riding high speed has been improving. no shake at all even with top case SHAD 48 liters
i supposed top speed without top cas it can be nearly 185km/h on Dashboard, maybe 180km real. as son as i change tyres to Trailwing 302 i will tell you my feelings on .
 
I have had my Terra to 155kph (97mph) with stock tires. Felt fine but I did not want to get a ticket so I backed out from there.
 
My Terra goes about 170/175 kph according to dashboard.

It begins to shake and wiggle on the front at 145/155 kph.

No problems when i have luggage at the back. As a dealer told me it is a problem with the geometry, little bit to high and hard backside, little bit lightweight and low frontside. A solution would be to stick the fork-tubes lower, but the is no space for that.

I can agree FER QUILES, the stability improved as the stock front tyre lost tread.

But i didn´t bought this bike for street racing :D

105mph on my Strada. That was before I got my first huge ticket and still face a possible suspension; now it's speed limit baby!
 
I did a ton in stock form, (100mph/160kph) per GPS, when testing a Large pelican mounted to the rear rack. That was with stock metzlers and stock fender. I wouldn't do more than 80 with my K60s / high fender. It's much more skittish with those changes.
 
Don't know how fast my Strada is. However, Motorcycle Consumer News tested the Terra and recorded a measured top speed (not just by reading the speedo) of 101.5 MPH. Actual speed at an indicated 65mph was 62.9 mph. Pretty accurate for motorcycle speedos these days.
 
With empty sidebags, mine starts to weave at 120-125kph. Haven't tried it with weight in the bags.
Without the bags, it's stable beyond that point. 150-155kph is no problem.
 
I have seen 105mph on my terra, although it took a while to get there. Did it on a private road of course. I have experienced the front end shake or wobble on my bike and spent a bit of time looking for the cause. What I noticed is that around 75mph the wind starts hitting my shoulders in such a way that it transmits a very slight shake down my arms to my hands causing the dreaded front end wobble. more so when wearing looser fitting jackets. the solution I found is to hold with a looser grip with my hands and tighter with my knees. hope that makes sense and helps.
 
Not too long after I got my Terra I topped it out at an indicated 110mph on the speedo. I too have had the dreaded shake at various speeds. I believe it is more a wind speed issue than ground speed item. Things that have not affected the shake (not that I did them to stop the shake) tires, stock windscreen, hand guards, hand guards with wind deflectors, auxiliary lighting, tail rack, skid plate, and an aftermarket shifter.
I've had it from 65-90mph. Can't accelerate out of it, nor decelerate out ( although I don't think anything makes you feel as ballsy/dumb as accelerating while shaking). And lastly I've even had I to it one handed tucked down. Spooky as shit sometimes.
 
Had my Terrra a little over 80mph on gravel, felt fine. I do notice a shake when the rear brakes loose in the gravel, usually about 6500rpm
 
I live in the desert and our highways and roads around here are rough. Needless to say I have experienced around 70 mph on a rough road. Luckily I was able to slow down and it went away. Now I have the GPR steering stabilizer I have not experienced headshake. I had one section of road I always got it, but now I don't have any headshake what so ever. I am a happy camper.

highest speed on motorway 170km/h on dashboard lie down on Terra behind the stock windshield and top case.. at 6400rpm, wind pushing on back. But the most important thing is as front tyre has loosing grip, the shakes on 120-130km/h from the begining, have been desapeared, totally. that means, maybe Terra 130km/ shaking is no problem of front fender but front tyre grip.. because no more shaking at 170km/h even with 48l topcase..
 
I've hit 100-105 mph on a number of occasions. There is a shake that creeps in, but I find it's one of two things. Turbulence from other vehicles or riding position. The 75mph weave seems remediated a bit by sliding my bum back to the bump in the seat. I guess it's enough to drop my out of the wind a bit, or it settles the rear enough to change the geometry.

I figured that one out on my way home from a trip, as I was racing across 2 states to get to the Husky shop to pick up some parts before they closed on a Saturday. I made it to the shop btw and got my radiator, and raced the next day to a podium finish :cheers:
 
I think I got the stock demo terra up to 155kph. Have had mine up around 140kph but started to get a little weavy, not sure if due to the wind, hand guards, high screen, tail bag or combination or whatever. Could also be a tyre balance as the mechanic said he had to tighten some spokes when I got it de restricted, and not sure if they checked balance after.
 
I got to 110mph on a slight downgrade on the freeway. It was VERY brief and took an inordinate amount of time. It gets to 100 without much trouble, but the last 10mph takes a lot of work. Tucking in seems to help. :P
