• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Strada pickup tomorrow

Hi guys,
I am picking up my Strada tomorrow morning with Next and a friend on a KLR. I haven't bought any luggage yet and can get a 30 liter BMW soft tail bag for $150 from the dealer. That is big enough for helmet, liners, and some tools. It is waterproof, which seems to be its only real advantage over something else. Has anyone had good luck using a waterproofing spray on their non-WP soft bags? Let me know and I will try to post some pics of the p/u and first ride in Pisgah Forest area.

Should be a good morning. It will be the first "Flight of the Hindenburgs". I was playing around with t-shirts since I am just hanging out waiting on the wife... here is the first draft--I already plan to change the font and sizing, but I am trying to see where I can get the best deal.

and the flip side...

Easy Peasy. We can talk about it tomorrow while we watch the Derby! Should be a great day. Congrats on the new bike pal. I'm off to the big city to look at furniture:cheers:

I dig the shirt.

As for the tail bag, no clue. I've been known to take my whole kit into moto shops to try out bags before. If you ever see a guy in Cycle Gear laid out on the floor stuffing a bag like he owns it, then it is probably me testing it out.

Too bad you live in the flat lands or you could join the club. If I like the bag I might just get it. $150 isn't a bad price and BMW gear is quality.

He can absolutely join the club! Riding Donkeys is a pal. He has already helped me a ton. Donkey, if you want a shirt let me know your size and I will add you to the list. I'll have it ready for you when you come up for that beer I owe you:)

Then we decided to take a ride on the Parkway. Not a great choice as we re in the clouds with extremely limited visibility.

It is the BMW Soft Bag 2 small. Roughly 30 some odd liters, water proof with side front and top pockets in addition to the main compartment. Cost $150 with discount.
