As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Everything I do is cheep... Well, everything I can do cheep, I do.
How tall are you? Whats it feel like riding with the pegs moved? Easier to lift the front end?
Will they go back to the original side after you mod them or is it a one way trip?
Yes, you can move them back to the stock position. Spacer on the bottom is stock, spacer on top is lowered. How tall are you? Whats it feel like riding with the pegs moved? Easier to lift the front end?

When you lower the foot pegs you can usually switch the springs side to side and then there is no need for the extra screw or work.
I did this mod. But, as I always say; Every form of refuge has it's price. On the 449, when you cut and lower the pegs, it also moves them backwards, away from the swing arm center. This causes a disruption of the suspension. Whether you can live with this disruption or not is the question. For me, I am looking for a different set of pegs.![]()

Not trying to be an alarmist, but, a few guys mention the risk of the pin shearing with this mod.
FYI, I'm 6'3" and have Fastway pegs in low position. Love them.
Did mine at least 2 years ago, the springs work without mods if switched sides. I also used shanked bolts for a little clamping force, since some folks thought the OEM pin might bend now that the peg housing is in 2 pieces. On the left side, a longer bolt also doubled as a way to make the side stand position up a little straighter. Other cheap tricks in the pic
