  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I was thinking of trying one out .... I see it’s still out there ... any one using them and have ya noticed any difference in the tight trails4F74B17D-683D-4202-94DE-7A73314E3264.png

Cool ... those KDX bikes are nice rides ....I just ordered the flywheel weight ... hoping it helps in the tight stuff ... and cutting back the bars was the best thing for me I really like the steering now ... hoping the flywheel fits without a cover spacer ... doesn’t show one in the Steahly pic if so I’ll have to modify the Emperor racing skid plate I have on the bike it’s a tight fit.

Sometimes, on certain models they have enough room to not run the spacer.

How much weight it has? I have planned to buy also flywheel weight to my TC250 2018. There are 9 oz and 11 oz versions available for my bike if I remember correctly.

Yes you are correct , there’s two weights available for your Husqvarna ... for my 2010 Wr 300 the only weight available is the 10 ounce .... www.steahlyoffroad.com everyone that I have talked to has said to buy the heavy flywheel weight as you can always turn it down to remove some of the weight if you want... something I’ve always wanted to try .... : )

I have one on a 1998 RM250 that I ride in the woods. it definitely smooths the hit. mine is the 12 ounce one.and it allows you to ride a gear high without lighting up the rear wheel in the slippery shit.

Chisler, I recently installed this on my 99 wr 250 (cheaper on amazon). It made a big difference. The bike will lug way down in the rpm`s. It also helps the bike from stalling! I also installed a G2 throttle tamer. It`s worth the money in my .02.

That’s good to hear .... I just got it dropped off at my door today .... did you find that it loosened up after a few hours... it also never came with a spacer ... so that’s nice ... I’ll try to get er in for a weekend try out ... also I’m running 13/51 on the sprockets

I used blue loc tight on mine. I have about 15 hours on it. its still tight! I ended up running a 13/48.

Well too busy with work commitments I finally got this fly wheel weight installed ..the original flywheel nut was on good ... after some choose words I got it loose .. to the ones that don’t know the flywheel nut is “NOT A LEFTHAND THREAD” it’s a regular thread meaning looking at the retaining nut you loosen it “ Counter Clockwise” .... also dropped the pilot jet ... went from a #45 to a #42 .... air screw is out 1 1/2 turns now .... try to get a ride report this weekend .... : )2AF84085-33A3-4E46-BAD5-E82C0058C985.jpeg 9A8721D9-083E-4674-99BA-84B1E3A3E676.jpeg 5D084B3F-3363-40AF-8EED-C1BD6C3B1B70.png

So I’ve taken it out and the first thing I noticed was no more flameouts ... the traction is pretty good ... it’s a lot smoother and as everyone has said a gear higher and she lugs right along ... it been wet here with this week drying out .... down hill stretches I find myself using the brake a bit more ... still winds out good ... for the price and installation I’d recommend it... it’s also diminished the vibration abit .. 5E4D2E24-7718-4DEA-ACD8-A08AE2345DD1.png
