  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC Start making Italian model s again ?

The Chinese and Koreans are showing in the car industry that they can build competing product. High quality from those countries are very possible and the we will see more of it as time goes on.

Agreed, witness the rise of Hyundai. They are now a quality product far removed from the stuff of even 10 years ago.
They are now the 4th largest automaker (And cars is more of a hobby for them :))

As with all things, the chinese CAN build a good copy, some are great, some are built down to a price & suffer as a result.
Hope the Shineray Husky comes out.

Te630 in the background.

I they use original tooling, quality components and wire them better, winner winner chicken dinner ! :)

On a side note, Kia sold 2.6 million cars worldwide last year.
They're head designer is an ex Audi designer, Hyundai are a top quality heavy plant manufacturer, they're machines are great.

As for the car industry, Korea and Japan are leaving the west for dead.

I'll stick with my 550hp (at wheels) falcon xr6 turbo, I'd love a mustang but Australia pays through the nose for them, $120-$140,000 aud. Absolutely disgusting.

The Mustang is going to be the new Ford Falcon, G6e , Futura,Typhoon and GT 2.3lt producing 321hp and up to 5.4lt producing 670hp. Pretty impressive.
Yes I understand what you mean with your xr6 , my young bloke a a F6 typhoon with this new fandangle goodies around the same HP as yourself , But I cant help just romping him in my old 1980 XD ford Fairmont , sorry rabskyline i'm a bit old school and love BIG CARBY HP V8'S these new hairdryer cars just dont sound the same as a nice old V8 . My old girl makes 607 BHP on a carby a just rumbles the ground , fuel wise it's crap , but sound makes up the difference to fuel cost and a 4800 converter.

I don't think the Mustang will be 'our' family car here in Aus.
It'll be some front or AWD model.

DM FOR 2015 THE NEW LARGE SIZE FORD WILL BE THE MUSTANG. My good lady works for Ford and I was invited to the New 2015 Australian Mustang unvailing for Australia. The only one we had on view was the 5.0Lt . No we also cant have piss ant FWD or AWD . We need muscle cars . you are the same age as me and you would remember the movie RUNNING ON EMPTY. {green is nice} and {dont burn the snatch kev} yeah I remember that well the GT racing the FC . You would also remember PISSOFF and the spag.

The V6 'Stang will not be offered in Australia; instead the base model here will be fitted with Ford's new 2.3-litre turbo four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, which delivers 227kW/407Nm and costs $US25,995 Stateside, or around $A28,000.

When the sixth-generation Ford Mustang arrives in Australia in the second half of next year, making ours one of the last markets to get the car, it is expected to be priced from around $40,000.

The range-topping Mustang GT will be priced from $US32,925 ($A35,600) in the US, representing a rise of $1715. The GT is propelled by an upgraded 5.0-litre V8 that belts out 313kW/529Nm and, like the EcoBoost model, has been confirmed for Australia.

All three models will be available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic with paddle shifters.

New standard features across the US Mustang line-up will include eight airbags, tyre pressure monitoring, reversing camera, HID headlights, fully independent front and rear suspension, push-button starting, leather-clad steering wheel with height and reach adjustment and next-generation SYNC AppLink control of smartphone apps via a 4.2-inch colour display.

I'm a huge vtwin fan also, had a nice Ducati that I sold for a newer model gsx750, worse decision in my life (bike wise) ..

Anyway, I'd buy one of these if they were up to scratch, especially a te630, Let this 10yr immigrant see more of the beautiful island known as Australia.

I'm pretty sure those Shineray pictures are Italian huskies in new plastic as I don't think they have really produced anything yet.

That said current Shinerays do not look horrible. DRZ 250 looking motor, CRF looking plastic, KTM looking frame and PDS. KTM looking swingarm and muffler. These guys can knock off some crap thats for sure.

I'm sure we'll get stangs. Only they won't be our family car.
No good for a school mum with only 2 doors.....
There'll be another car for families.

Back to topic, yes Moto, Chinese can do a convincing copy
