  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Speedo recalibration te449

Matt250

Husqvarna
Hi could anybody help me by letting me know if it's possible to recalibrate my speedo as it now reads incorrectly having changed from 21 inch to 16.5 inch supermoto wheels. The bike is a 2011 te449.
Thanks in advance

I don't believe it's possible. As i understand it the speedo gets identified as a TE or SM model at the build, and that "burns" the calibration in so it can't be changed. You can identify the speedo calibration when it starts up as it briefly shows a code, i think mine say something like S41E, I have the opposite problem where i have an SM speedo on my TE and it under reads. I think E41E is the startup code for Enduro TE calibration

You'd be far less frustrated if you get a Trail Tech speedo. There is no way to change the calibration. Not even with an HST.

I agree. And if you don't want to lose your turn indicator/fuel warning/hi beam/"fail" msg.... AND you're not up to re-wiring this stuff, put the trail tech right next to it; or even use a little speedo from a mtb/road bicycle (eg, cateye). both simple & cheap.

good luck.

thanks for the replies, you'd think there would be a way to do it considering the variations of the same model. My next option was to research a device made by Healtech called a speedo healer which can be calibrated to suit your wheel size. Maybe this might be the solution to my problems.

I have the Speedo Healer on my 2011 Te449. I got the two wire with a/b switch because I switch form the 21 to 17 depending on what I want to do that day
