  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Speed Wobbles

I just bought a 2013 TE449 also and installed a GPRv4...
It's okay till 70mph, but after that, any bump on the road, need a damper, but nothing too bad...had her up to 92MPH...

So you saying stock wheels and tyres TE449 on the road you get a wheel wobble under hard acceleration?, but Stops when you ease off the throttle? not good if this is the case. I hope to get mine on Saturday, but also hope to have the 17" wheels and rims on it. Might not fit the 17" and try it to see if mine is the same. Cant say I will too happy if there is a problem, as I intend to use it on the road with stock wheels and tyres sometimes to go greenlaning

no, riding it on a freeway at over 70-75 I felt the front a bit loose...and if I changed lanes the front did "wobble" nothing to bad...I think it's the OE tires, really not for road...
these are 90 dirt / 10 street tires, in my opinion...

yeah i just took for a ride to double check.. going about 60ish hitting a bump the steering wheel will wobble back and fourth a bit I let it gain control then go again and without hitting a bump or gradually going fast its ok.. i did 78 with nothing but hit 60 and wobbled. everything seemed tight but im gonna tightem up the steering stem just in case hopefully it fixes the problem

that could be wheel balance, if it does wobble at a certain speed with out hitting bumps,

steering head was def loose. Didnt feel a shake in the forks but checked it anyways and effortlessly tightened it about 1/2 turn maybe more and the shaking stopped substantially

I rode mine today for the first time, got to say there is going to be some movement with those tyres on the road for sure, never went over 65 mph, but I bet it will get worse as you go faster. I never found it so bad though I wanted to slow down. at least you have found the main problem :)

yeah I hear ya on wanting to slow down. Ima get the steering damper still, and by monday Ill have all the small mods to uncork this bike and finally be able to see what shes all about!

Thanks for letting us know you found a problem.

Glad it got better, I have never really ran mine over 75mph, at least when looking at the speedo.
Playing with suspension settings, tire pressures ect...really helps if everything else is proper.
Let us know how you like the dampner. I may end up with one myself before its over...
