• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Special tools

I am looking for some crank case splitting tools but not at this price:eek:

Oops - I bought them. I'm addicted to Husky stuff and couldn't stop myself. I know you could make your own tools out of scrap, but . . . (I'll add an excuse when I think of one  )

Aghrrrrr!!

Kind regards
Lucien

Ha, had to be an Husky addict, most of whom congregate here. No more hammers, chisels and old bits of angle iron for you. Bet you had my £2.20 sidestand too! I need one, the ally one I made bends.

Suppose I must be lucky then...the old man turned up a while ago and gave me all (plus some others) of the tools in that photo for nothing. His only stipulation is that I keep using them...

Sounds like an antiques road show line. 'Of course I would'nt dream of selling!'

They are family heirlooms...plus he'd kill me even if he is 81 now.

Plus the way the 430 is going I'm going to be using it all again very soon...

Just to add to this thread, if any of you Brit Huskyholics want a loan of any of these tools let me know. Not looking for payment but if you cover postage there and back these are available to those in need. Gotta keep these old Huskies running. PM me.

Kind regards
Lucien

Here in Australia , we have plenty of old TOOLS , most dont get used enough, the others just dont work ,,,,,, sorry about this little comment

i was lucky enough to buy from the classifieds some original dealer tools, the case assembler among them that eurotrash copied. it is a very nice way to work on these. the universal tusk tools do the job tho.

I made my own set of assembly tools and disassembly tools but i sold them with all my used husky parts. I dont feel up to making another set so i purchased them from euro.

I just Found out my 250 has an air leak probably a base gasket bit in doing The seals, tranny and crank bearings, Plus check the cylinder / piston out too. When My 430 arrives im going through that one too. I just purchased all new boring tools too. I can hone or bore to any size again. (Castiron) i need to get the nickelsil tools Next.

Just bought a crankcase assembly tool from Joe at Jambalaya. Excellent service, fast delivery, and when I had a problem he was on it faster than you can believe. Well worth the money. There is a pic of it in use on my 390 resto thread.

I like to make stuff so my case splitter and assembly tools are home made. My splitter is over 40 old. I just made the case assembly tool a few years back, thought it was time to retire the big hammer.

This tool from Tusk is an exact copy of the special Honda tool dealers get, it is $59 and it will work on any engine. They ship world wide.

All you need for an assembly tool is a pipe/spacer sized to allow you to use the stock mag or primary nut to pull the crank in.

Just FYI, Tusk tools are the in house brand of Rocky Mountain MC/ATV, most are copies of other companies tools like Motion Pro but cheaper. I have used many Tusk products, tools, handlebars, levers, clutch kits, and everything has been outstanding quality.
