• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I'd love to go! I need to find a TE, though, as I don't think my SM610 is going to cut it out there...even if it does have knobbies on it :busted:

I've still got a couple of 'real' tires from Michael that he gave me. We can take the trials tires off my bike, put those on, and you could ride my bike. Then I could take yours in the slow group (assuming there are enough riders for 2 groups).

Seriously?? Wow! That's one tasty offer! Let's see what kind of ride we're looking at here and when it will be, and then we can decide if this scenario will work for both of us. If so, we can take a few rattle cans of red and black to Eric's bike and maybe folks will think it's a Husky :busted:

Thanks, Coffee...you're the best!

still tentative, into the late fall /winter months between business, Randsburg area, within that area/zone. One base camp spot and ride out from there with various level rides. Quoted from discussion with Husky Relic. That is the latest I have. R

This ride sounds epic! I would love to make it. Will keep an eye out for the location and date and see if I can make it.

My 510 is a fast group candidate for sure. I had better eat my Wheaties to not let the TE down.

I would definitely be in .... depending upon dates and my kids soft ball and baseball schedules...

desert, mountains , tracks anything except pavement

T

Any solid info in regards to exactly when and where?

I need dates in order to plan, as I reall would like to go!

I would also like to attend all the way from Montana. We pretty much shut down the golf course maintenance around Nov. 1 so anytime after that and I can make the trip.

Thanks,
Walt

I have vacation time I need to burn before the end of the year. I am day dreaming about this ride at work. :applause: My Husky wants to meet other like minded individuals.

Husky Ride

Depending on date I would be up for another Husky group ride.
What about a day & night ride out to the Husky monument?

Sound like a plan to me, I'm in.
October is the best month, not too cold at night yet still warm enough during the day.
Schedule a date already! lol:D

stby for word from Huskyrelic about this get together, his idea is to have a central camp with various levels of rides going out from there and returning to the central location so all can enjoy the rides.

Wow! I'm sorry for not checking in for a while. I did not expect such a response. Because of my work schedule it is difficult for me to pick a weekend. As soon as I do something will come up and I'll be required to travel and attend some event or function on behalf of Husky. The only time and location I can commit to for now is Thanksgiving weekend. The location will be Holly Rd out near the Salton Sea. I have been camping there every Thanksgiving for the past five years. There is a great network of trails and very scenic riding. It's part of the Ocotillo
Wells SVRA. I will be there starting Friday afternoon after Thanksgiving and stating until Sunday afternoon. Any and all are welcome to join me we will set up a base camp and ride out of there. If you would like to join me and my family send me a message and I will give you directions on where to meet.

We won't be able to make it down to ride at Thanksgiving time. :( I hope someone on the ride brings a camera and shares some pics.
