• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey, I'm in Calgary as well. I have a 2007 TE510 but am not a member of that association. I haven't even been to Mclean Creek. I usually go to the Kookanusa area in BC. I want to try a bit of dual-sporting as well. The guy I bought this bike from has a TC250 and a 450 supermoto. There are a few Huskies around but not a lot.

Nice vids. Are you a pro or is video your hobby? Great work. I can ride on that stuff but not sure I am quite as quick as you are with my beast.

iMovie is pro. Technically, I'm a communications technology teacher, but that doesn't matter. I can't wait to see how I ride with my new WR300!

I'd love to ride those trails this summer when I'm down south! Great videos! I rode Mclean Creek on my 2010 Wr 300 with the family before, but only a "family" pace. My kids are 8 and 10. Contact me if you ever come to the edmonton area, Ill show you areas I know. I also have Trelleborg tires so I can rip the winter too.

Just a note; come check out AEIRA. There'll be a spiffy TC 450 ripping around at Chip lake, Telford lake (Leduc).
I'm definately wanting to do more trails this summer!

I just installed ice tires today and hope to hit Telford this year. I've been coming out taking pictures the last few years (Telford and Numb Bum).
Check out albertadualsport.ca. Despite it's "dual-sport" name there is a lot of trail riding getting done on 450's, 530's, Husaberg's, etc.

The guy who organizes the 24-Hour Numb Bumb (DR600/Dan) puts on a few Hoolie Rides each year that are a blast!

Hi all from YYC.
Not a trail rider, as I have a 510smr. But I'm glad I can join the conversation!
We are a small ground of supermoto junkies that organize rides in the city. A little hooliganism fun.
We find jumps and parking lots to goof off safely.
If you care to join, let me know and I'll fire off emails to whomever wants to play.
Here's a sample..

ciao!

Did you make it out to Telford Lk? We (our team) finally got prepped, and made Telford 2 on Feb 12. Despite a loose terminal on the coil resulting in loss of spark and 30 minutes to rip the bike apart and tie wrap the connector on, we finished in 2nd place! Bike under Novice. I will say i like how the 450 rips! Those Fournier tires are just amazing. It took me 2 45 minute sessions to get the hang of using them, then i was just 30 seconds off the 1st place team.
Its a shame this season turned out so poorly and still no word on Feb 26th race.

I recognize some of those trails, Can't wait for the snow to melt. I have a TE510 that seen just about everything in Mclean. See you at the Wed night club rides

Make sure you introduce yourself to me. I need some support from the Husky club...

I made it out to both Telford races ... without a bike. What was your plate number? I most likely have a bunch of pictures.

The Fournier tires are pretty crazy. Our 2012 Numb Bum bike had a set on ... destroyed by the time the sun came up though.

We were #82 this year. Only made it out to the one race, where we got 2nd in Novice Over (400 cc).
I was told and found out that the Fourniers behave much like pavement tires; full blast to the corner, brake hard, and trail brake thru the apex. I loved them. Ours are still new :)
I heard the numb bum track deteriorated badly throughout the night. Shame it took the tires with it.
