• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Solo ride report from area 51 and hanging with the lions

Pro Class
So my mom runs a big cat rescue place in NE Washington state bordering the Indian Rez. Some incredible terraine up there. I was supposed to ride with this guy from out there but that fell through. Hell If I wasnt gonna ride though. Theres probably a couple hundred miles of old fireroads out there with scenery to die for. There is some singletrack but %90 fireroads. I have been told its state land by locals and I am technically street legal on my wr300 so of I went. Some views...

I seem to run into you on the trail once in a while but doubt you will see me up there riding with the cats :D

That tiger looks menacing in the first pic and asleep in the second pic.. Beware! it's a trick to bring you closer :)

Wow! The scenery was spectacular enough...not what comes to mind when I think of eastern WA...but that first photo of the majestic tiger is mesmerizing! I couldn't look away!!

Nicely done, firecrotch! :applause:

Yes..look at a map of the area...and look at the brown lines on the map that zigzag everywhere on pretty much all the mtns out there Youll figure it out quick how to get up there...lol. Take a gps and lots of extra gas as i garantee youll get list the first couple times out.

...I don't know how you find the time to ride...beautiful location...I'd be stopping every mile just to take it all in....ain't much here in Florida to look at....

awesome riding area, how do you like the Voyager gPS? I'm wanting to pull the trigger on that but not sure where I would mount it and more important I want a device that can display streets and roads.

Thx...I too held off on the voyager for over a yr as I have a garmin hcx. You actually can download street stuff. I found myself not missing the fancy color screen of the garmin because this thing is so intuitive and provides such clear outlines of where you are and heading that I forgot I am missing it.

How was the install? Did your WR have any stock instrumentation and if so did you keep it? Where did you get the nice protection for the Voyager?
