• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

SoCal Pala Raceway get together?

Pala is open****************************************!! with lots more construction still being completed, see the layout plan view (amazing powersports track facility)

SoCal riders throw in some input,,we can do an informal deal and just find a good day for all. R:thumbsup:

Somebody I know wants to go out there on Saturday, but it is not in my current budget. 20 bucks to join for the year and 20 bucks to ride. I did that deal with Elsinore raceway a couple of years ago and enjoyed it quite a bit. You get a membership card with your mug on it.:D

I might go watch others ride, though and take some pictures. Depends on if and how much it costs to just spectate a practice day.

Lets see how the response is,,,we could do Cahuilla or Amago as well (discussed last year) those 2 are entry ride fee only places. I thought Pala because of the amazing layout of the place,,even has an SM track, BMX, Kart, it really is well thought out. It appears like a real race track (world style) not just a dusty parking lot type joint. Leaving Thurs for a real track for this weekend, will check back next week. R
Go Alstare!!!

What is the track layout Rob? SX style or more laid down like CCMX?

I would be interested..... how far off of the freeway or is it fairly close to the Casino?

T

one of our crew went and said it was very reasonable on the gp track,,,all safe lauches and easy landings with good ramp angles. fine for enduro set up machines, and nov level riders.

see View facility!!! http://www.palaraceway.com/directions.asp to get a picture of the plan layout view,, its quite the layout. Its not at that level yet but it is open and fairly close to the 15 just south of Temecula, North of Escondido.

This looks absolutley amazing. :)

What is the status now of Amago? Is it now closed? who would drive the extra 20 miles to go there?

I definitely want to try this out.....do you have a date in mind?

Good place to take my son to. Is the pee wee track open now?

T

we have been taking the kids to barona oaks which is super close for san diego riders,,its good for the kids,,but the main track looks a little bit too SX for my taste.
Amago is a good choice but usually not well prepped but I love the vet track for its offroad enduro feel. Cahuilla is great and great for the kids too. Just figure this big new facility can be great,,,next weekend maybe 9or10may? 16 may is booked,,,and we sure want to beat the heat so lets not wait too long, I am getting too old for those 0 humidity 90-100 deg days that suck the water from you.
