• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

So I saw another TE449 out in the bush yesterday!

Dangermouse449

Husqvarna
Pro Class
After owning my bike for 2 years, I finally saw my first OTHER TE449 in the bush yesterday.
I was starting to feel very lonely, like I was the last of my species.....
It kind of made me curious, does anyone know how many TE/TC/TXC 449/511 bikes were produced?

This guy had just bought his second hand & was trying it out.
He has had a few Swedish Huskies & a TE250, he said he'd had a good day on it and thought it was great.
Nice to see the Italian bike about :)

Unfortunately my day ended in a broken rib, but all good, these things happen.
Bike is fine, back out there soon enough.

A broke rib? Sucks! ... What did you do and how did you make it back home?

--

Not sure on the number of bikes produced or sold ... Bmw is a publicly trade company so the numbers on all their products should be given out but when ever I tried to find their QTRly reports, I never found anything specific on the models.

--

KTM is a public company also... I hope with all the members here, the sales numbers of each bike model just might come to the light of day ...

Ha ha, I just rested a while & got back on that sucker :D
I actually hadn't got far down the track, enough that I was in 4th, but did another 5km of the track with my son before I called it.
The braking bumps & jumps were killing me ha ha.

Thanks for that info, I'll have a dig around

I've seen at least 2 449's in Glassy.

First one was riding in a group with another 250/310/450/510 Italian Husky. Maybe it was you!

Second sighting: guy came up and asked my friend and I how we are liking our Huskies (2 x 310's). We gave him a nod and grin... "love them"
He wasn't so impressed with his as he had many flameouts through the hills. All his mates were giving him shit. Unfortunately he didn't seem like the type to know how to internet  so probably unaware of the mighty Cafe Husky.

I had a bit of a poke around looking for TE449/511 total built volumes, nothing yet but did find some interesting Aus sales figures.

These were only for the first half of the 2013, but you can see how small a market we really are here!
Good to see the TE449 at 8th & I suspect the '510' at 9th may be a mis-keyed 511 :)

Another point to note is the sales dominance of the tractor that is the Yami WR450F!
If you take one model out of KTMs lineup, the WR would still beat them on sales....

Glad your not too broken. Surprised the KTM 300 isn't more popular, I seem to see those thing everywhere down here****************************************!

That is the plan next friday when I'm home again, back out with the fellas again.
Wasn't looking forward to sitting out a few rides!!!

I'm feeling better each day, I'll be back on & cracking the tap! :applause:

I HATE snakes. We get all kinds of nasty one here too :(
Have a look in Google for Red belly black, taipan, tiger & king browns. We are 'lucky' enough to see these all around here :(

Nothing a couple of cold pints and a gentle massage won't fix. Take 2 Sheilas and call me in the morning.

All kidding aside, glad you're out and about.
