• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

So here it is, Huskys 2011 beast powered by BMW!

Marz Forks ...again??
It appears the remainder of the frame hasnt changed much only the braces related to supporting the engine.

Thanks!

I can't tell much from that picture. Does it have a frame under the engine?

I'll move this to the newsroom, cause it seems like news to me...

That pic has been floating around. It's a photoshop and most say it is not going to look like that, It will have a conventional husky frame.

Unless someone was really bored I dont know if its photo shopped as there is too much attention to detail incl Rear shock, tank graphics, tank, exhaust routing, frame etc.

I talked to a guy who had seen the new motor, when he where at the factory.
They are running a normal clutch now and will not have the swing arm pivot connected to counter shaft  And they will use a hydraulic clutch. So husky have refined the BMW motor
The husky guy told him that they will use the TC/TE 250 frame.
They will run the bike in the MX3 motocross world championship, with Alex Salvini

Does it have a kick as plan B if you get stuck in the woods?

If you are referring to the hydraulic clutch breaking, the plan would be the same as using a clutch cable in case it breaks, dunno...

What size engine is this beast supposed to be? 450?

(Yes I've been too busy to follow things as of late)

Kick, as in Kick starter.

It will not come with a kick starter? I did not see that mentioned in this thread.

If so that will definitely affect the number of bikes sold.

Yes kick as in kickstart...

Does anybody know if the next generation will have a kickstart system.

The little TE250 have a kick but not the BMW 450 so what will it be?

As far as I'm concerned, BMW can take that abortion of a frame they used on their 450 and shove it up someplace stinky.

They've got a great motor program going on at HVA, so they should use that technology for all their dirtbikes and toss that lump that the squareheads came up with. The new 250 should able to be scaled up into larger displacements
Buying HVA and turning it into BMW would not be the smart way to go IMO

Alrighty then, ....lol. Seems odd to me that with less than 1 month away for the 1st WEC we don't have at least 1 public spy photo of this bike. Besides the photo of the guy with the baked beans in front of the handlebar. Just in case you were thinking of posting that slowpoke..

I hear tight wraps on the bike for now and they will unveil it when ready and they are shooting for the Portugal WEC Round (2nd) but maybe Spain (opener)

Still a shame no real Huskys in E2 Bart-man was tearing up the E2 on the old Soldier WR250 last year till he hurt his hand. Going E3 for 2010 as is Bourgois. Jumping from 125 2 strk to a 250 f then right to the E3!

Kid is 140 pound soaking wet!
