    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

So I got it home.. I have riddne it approx 30-40 miles round trip in order to get it inspected.
Pure joy. I have noticed it does not have the bottom end grunt of the DR, but certainly more top end. Ergos are perfect and remind me of my KTM 300.

So there is near new spare plastic
5.5 (maybe 5) gallon Safari Tank with 4 Petcocks.
Spare rim and tire and of course luggage!

Ad the beat all of it, I have DVDS of the bike being prepped and its adventures on the Baja 100 course, old copper Mexico, and tour of Idaho.. The bike was well cared for and enjoyed. I hope to conitune the tradition!

Wow! Well, if you have all those spare parts the situation is way better!
I wonder why the previous owner had all that stuff; maybe he/she was worried about the fact that those bikes are discontinued.
I suggest that you inspect the cup washers of the cushioning system of that clutch basket, if it has been used. I don’t know wether it was you or the previous owner who decided to store it with the springs not compressed, but I like the idea because in that way the springs will not shorten and the discs will not stick one onto each other; maybe it would be wise to spread some engine oil between the discs.

Yes as I understand that is exactly the reason the original owner stocked up on parts. I have been given his phone number and email, At some point I will contact and see if he is open to sharing a bit more history with me.
