  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc So go Lectron, not PWK?

No problem on returning the cable shoot me an Email if you got it from me (to all). Will look into this and see whats up.

Cool, Thanks Kelly. I'll shoot you an email to formally ask this be refunded. Can you send a label to me so I can drop off at USPS or UPS? Yeah, hope it gets figured so more cables aren't wasted.

i received a motion pro cable that has a 90 degree steel bend on top, worked great..
you just bought this carb and now you cant run the bike for months?? i thought old bikes were exempt from that crap?

i have the straight into top of carb cable(little cone shaped rubber hat on top) on 300. works awesome, nice light pull. the 90 degree type on my 125/165 not so light a pull, definitely not as light as it should be. was thinking the bend was the culprit but you guys dont seem to have any issues with them? might try the other cable to be sure

i had the medium weight spring and then switched to the heavy spring to simulate my older roundslide carbs. i prefer it in rough terrain as well...but i keep my cable lubed well. the 90 perhaps has something to do with it but the throttle feel kinda sucks with a lectron. i think its mostly because of the light slide and small diameter spring.

Interesting about the carb springs, gonna pay more attention to mine now
I got my Lectron from Kelly/Motosports with optional cable. Thought the cable was long and needed an elbow at the top of the carb, but then it fit well and works great. Looking forward to hear how you like it on the 360

The difference is in the throttle end of the cable. Husky used the molded 90 degree cables in the mid nineties so the throttle is totally different and the cable has no chance of being useful.

Molded end on the throttle end. Kelly and I are working through this issue presently. Replacement aftermarket cables that will fit the lectron carby won't work with the stock style cable with the molded end.

That's the plan. Seems the issue of cables not fitting stems from this. Kelly is fixing me up with a throttle, cable and carb. Should be good to go.
