• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

sms 630 power commander installed!

Supermono31

Husqvarna
AA Class
hi guys,

I did it. i finally installed a power commander V on my 2010sms630. i live in sydney and drove 7 hours to a small town near beechworth vic.

i brought it to a guy who runs the bmw race team of glenn allerton here in australia. He is head honcho of all things technical and electronic. he knows his stuff.

anyway, he did 15 runs on the bike and adjusted the air/fuel mixture as well as he could. the bike
was predominantly running too rich. so he leaned it off by around 10percent, specially down low.

the bike absolutely just powers out of every gear now with smooth delivery! it use to just feel like
nothing really happened when you twisted the throttle hard.

the bike registered 59.3hp at the rear wheel. only mods i have is the arrow sip ons from husky with
ecu included in the kit.

hope this info helps!

Enrique

59.3?! wow! any chance you can put your chart up mate? there's a thread here called 'TE630 dyno results and thoughts', could be good to post it in that as a few of us already have.

important to say dyno outputs vary from dyno to dyno but that taken into consideration, you're still getting big numbers there :)

That's pretty impressive. If you could squeeze out another 10hp you'd be in NOX territory. Nice work!

thanks. but it's not so much the gain in hp that's really made the difference, it's the tuning of the air/fuel ratios that has made the bike more responsive/ smooth, and literally jump out of corners when you twist the throttle.

i highly recommended it, but you need the right person to install it for you, someone with a good reputuation.

most people i rang up in sydney told me that all it would need are approximately three dyno runs. most of them said that. but this guy of mine did at least 15!

he starts from scratch. a lot of people just download the map on to your bike and send you on your merry way..

all good,
take care.

Hey mate, how did you find this guy? Does he have a website?

He's called alpine performance centre in whorouly, northeast of Vic. Just south past the border of albury.
His name is Shane kinderis.

Btw, where do you live in Sydney? I'm in kellyville. Maybe we could go for a ride oe day?

There isn't many motards around the hills.

Enrique

Hi jase, I never told you how I found him. Through a friend who lives in albury. Shane got famous when he use to work on Russell Hollands bike. World super bike rider.

He now runs Glenn allertons BMW team for asbk.

He knows his stuff. This is my second bike I have taken there.
1st bike was a duke 748sp. He did 35 runs on that bike when he fitted the power commander on it.

The husky, he did about 15 runs. Most people in Sydney will tell you that they only need to do 3 runs on it. They usually
Just download a map through dynolink.

Whereas Shane starts from scratch.
Hope that helps.

Regards,
Enrique

Could you post a pic of your graph?

.
i would if i knew how. i'll have to ask my better half when she has time.

the most important improvement for me was the air/fuel mixture. it was way too rich down low in the rev range.

when i bougth the bike, i had the arrow exhausts and ecu installed straight away.

Hi Enrique,

Thanks for the info, I found his website. Now I just need the $ and time.:)

I'm always up for a ride when I'm not working. I live at Bundeena, so I have the Nasho at my doorstep. Give me a yell whenever you're keen for a ride. I've got the next 4 weeks off!:D

Cheers,
Jase

wow, bundeena is a long way from kellyville.
but the nasho is right on your doorstep. i havent ridden there for a very long time.

we usually go up the old pacific hwy, putty road, wisemans ferrry.
so i guess same goes for you bud, if you up for a ride out this way, be more than happy to do it!

also, i did a rideday at wakefield last week and had a ball on the bike. coming from sportbikes, it was awesome! i got
blasted down the short straight on every session but still managed to have fun around the twisties.

Hi mate,

Just curious how you are going with this bike, as I'm looking for someone to map my TE630 (once it's all back together!) with the FMF 4.1 on it. Still happy with the work that was done at Alpine Performance Centre?

Cheers,

Kris

Hi. Can you throw off all the charts that you got and the card itself that you installed?
