  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Smr511 build thread

Thanks for the kind words Tinken! I'm glad to be providing the line of ZipTy parts to my customers, you guys certainly have wonderful products. I need to call and chat with ya sometime soon! I like the drain plug idea for getting oil back to the engine, very clever! I'm sure that was one of your ideas? :D I'm sure we can fit that with the Toxic Oil Recovery System. I'll snag one soon and check it out.

I kept the Toxic Oil Recovery system small and neatly packaged. It still allows the user to run a higher oil level, (no issues running 1300cc's) without having to store oil in the reservoir. So it's more of a "condenser" than a "reservoir" you could say, due to the internal components that help to separate the oil from the gases. I stuck with the fill plug oil return because it was a shorter route for the oil to return. Path of least resistance so to speak. It's really not much hassle when adding oil. It takes longer to unscrew the fill plug than it does to take off the return line. But if you have a ZipTy or Toxic Moto Oil Recovery System added, you won't be topping off your 449/511 nearly as much as before! Either way you'll be accessing the drain and fill plugs at some point so you'll have to deal with a return line somewhere. Comes down to personal preference I think.

The ZipTy Oil Breather Vent is a great addition to the kit and for those still wondering, it was an awesome solution to the poorly designed OEM crank ventilation system. Like Tinken has mentioned in his threads (and probably better than I can), it helps vent the hot gases away from the torque limiter through a more proper vent, allowing the T. Limiter to keep cooler and thus reduce the chance of burning it up.

Soon as I saw the graphics I went "ohhh nooo"

But I am weird and prefer the clean/oem look. In fact wish I had red SMR plastics :\

Did you get a slip on exhaust yet? I could not believe the difference with my fmf and quiet insert. I need to get race map 3 now. :\

Ah okay, the plastic parts you pointed too i didnt put graphics on i just left them white as personal preference but if u wanted graphics on the bits you pointed to its the same process as the rest of the graphics.

Peel back the film and line the graphics up as best as you can and slowly stick them down and smooth out any bubbles, a hairdryer can sometimes help to heat and bend the graphics onto place :)

Now throw out the tyres and get some decent rubber on there before you kill yourself. the OE diablo's are woeful!
