  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Smr511 build thread

Nice bike! Wish they made the smr's still. I would have got one instead of my te. Either way, with 17's and a few mods it will hang :)

I have the warp 9 wheels ordered , with a 5 inch rear on the way. FMF powercore, and power commander also on the way. Going to run tubeless. I bought them from toxicmoto / J.R. cool dude btw.

I will probably just go full supermoto convert, with the beringer 6 piston, and get the suspension lowered and revalved in the future.

It would be nice to have got the suspension from the smr out of the box....but I guess the nice thing about converting is that I can go better than stock smr pieces on everything. Also the te511's are going for so cheap now you can pretty much build a nice supermoto for the price of a stock smr was new.

I love the dirt setup, but its been a week and it has not touched any dirt. Feels like a waste of a purpose built bike :) Also in 120 miles it is apparent the knobby tire might barely make it to 350-400 miles.

sounds like a good setup! Yeah iv spoke and ordered a few parts from jeff at toxicmoto, nice guy and great service

Like you said lots of options to convert should be a fun project :D

I plan on getting a dirt setup in future for some trails when not blasting the road!

Suffered the same fate as everyone else with excess oil in the airbox etc :(

Bought a kit from toxicmoto and fitted it plus cleaned airbox and filter today and all looks well! Really happy with the kit, great quality, fitment and instructions would have went for tinkens design but short on cash unfortunatly[/ATTACH] image.jpg image.jpg

Jeff @ TToxic Moto is one of our dealers. You will need the breather vent to save your torque limiter and you can purchase through Jeff.
