  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

SM610 dirt wheel options?

cawmd82

Husqvarna
I have a 2008 SM610. Looking for an 18/21 wheel set for off-roading.

Anyone have extra set or suggestions for an economical aftermarket plan?

So all the 4 stoke hubs form 2003-2013 interchange? Or is that incorrect??

Also if anyone has some good used plastic mine could use an upgrade....

Thanks in advance !

All the 4 stroke hubs fit...kinda'

The rear is a direct swap.

The front is not because the SM triple clamps are wider, The lower fork tube caliper mounting holes are larger and the disk mounting screws are 8mm not 6mm.

I have a 19" front wheel laced to a SM rim and a 3.5" wide 17" rim on the rear.

Want to buy my wheels?

Thanks for the perspective. Not exactly what I was thinking but maybe an option

How much are you thinking?

Not really sure but they were expensive to build.

Two brand new excel wheels and Woody's spoke kits, Tkc80's on them.
Would have to be $500 at least.
I don't really ride the bike much so might sell 'em.
I can tell you they are an awesome 50/50 set up.
Smooth on the highway and really usable in single track.
Believe it or not I also have a full set of plastic for a 2008 SM610 too. Red and white, correct?

Where are you located?

Shipping will be a fortune.

Get a set of Dirt wheels and put a SM front rotor on a 21" wheel.

You will have to enlarge the rotor mounting bolts to 8mm from 6mm.

With the SM rotors the 21" will work but "might" bottom on the front fender.

You may need a 19" Rim on the front.

Make sure you get a 4 stroke rear wheel they have wider spacing on the sprocket.

Rear wheel is on the way

Front has arrived

Will report soon on results

Anyone have a Kouba lowering link that's not in use?

Nope.

The spokes on a 21 will hit the SM brake rigging. Need to use a TE rotor.

A 19 will work with the SM brakes.

That is correct! Now I remember.

The heavy duty spokes on my 19" front wheel just so slightly hit the caliper on my bike.

I had to file the back of the caliper a little and tighten the spokes just a touch to pull the wheel to the right a tiny bit.

It's a real tight fit with a new set of brake pads.
