    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Wondering what tyres people are using for racing? Tracking my SMR511 yet the 4.25 inch rear limits choices and the majority of motard slicks here in Oz are a 165 rear. Was thinking I could stretch to a 160 (up from 150) rear without too much issues but don't really want to go to the trouble of getting a larger rear rim to fit the larger rear tyres.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
 
Get in touch with Jovian Haidle from Jose Moto he will sort you out with some Goldspeeds. Pretty awesome SM tyres most of us guys in WA are running them.
 
I have a 160 on my 5" rim it is about half bees d!ck from my chain with no evidence of rubbing.

I'm sure Jovian will have a super sticky tyre for ya.
 
You will actually have a smaller contact patch with the road by going to a 160 on a 4.25 rim plus you won't get to the edge of the tyre due to the pinched 160 being more curved. Tried it on my Husaberg SM and I couldn't notice much difference apart from being left with chicken strips, the pegs would hit the ground before getting to the edge of the tread. Stick with a 150 or get a 5" rim.
 
That's what I thought. I would prefer to stay with the stock rim and run a 150 but I can't find a super motard spec slick in that size
 
The goldspeed ultra street 160 rears are very skinny and IMO are a better fit on a 4.25" rim than the 5" rim I have on right now. The slicks on the other hand are a wider 160 more suited to 5" rims.
 
I run the Goldspeed street ultras on my 5" rim. With out off setting the hoop a little anything wider would rub on the chain.
 
You won't find slicks for the 4.25" as racing slicks come in proper 165/170 widths designed for 5-5.5" rims. You can run the road legal Goldspeed Cut slicks as they're not so bad on a 4.25" rim but not ideal.
