  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Skid plates and pipe guards? (2010 WR300)

I've been looking around for these, but have had limited success. It seems there are a bunch of skid plates available, but I've actually yet to see a pipe guard besides the Hyde integrated one, which is butt ugly by the way...

Any suggested sources? North American distributors only please.

Flatland Racing will do one for 75.00ish if you send them your pipe and pay shipping both ways. It maybe worth it if you go in with a couple other guys that have the same bike.

071.JPG I have a Moose racing universal fit pipe guard. It's quite beefy! No dents in 800 miles of ugly stuff. EE skid plates are pretty nice too......

I'll give a thumbs up for a skidplate from enduro engineering. I have one on my 09 and it's took some major abuse with no problems. Mounting is good and has good protection for side cases.IMGP0012a.JPG

I am in Ontario and have the EE skid plates, hand guards, rr disc guards and rad braces in stock.

I tried to use the Hyde Skid/Pipe combo. The skid portion worked but the pipe guard isn't even close. I sent it back and got a P3 carbon fiber pipe guard. It took over a month to get it to me but it fits perfectly. I also have the Enduro Engineering slide plate and it fits really good as well. Quick shipping and great customer service.

I ordered up a enduro Engineering Skid plate, and a moose carbon fibre pipe guard. Maybe they'll be here before Christmas!?
