ok, sounds good, thank you
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!

This.IMHO you need some real support under the motor as it has a huge oil line out the bottom and the oil drain plug both very EZ to destroy your motor with if ripped off. This is a 400 pound bike with scary critical oil stuff right on the bottom of it. You drag those over a rock and rip them off your bike is going in the dumpster.
You got it. I'll post one as soon as it arrives.
I just got mine put on as well. This thing is SOLID! I feel like I could bomb down a gravel road with abandon without worrying at all.I just installed Kelly's upper skid plate to my Terra and it's a slick fit and very generous in the protection area Here are some photos. Two more photos in next post.
Great job Kelly!
I wish I had waited for the SW Motech....Touratech is not bad, just looks like better protection on the SW.
Skid plate went on easy peasy with just a little tweak on the rear mount so it would fit around the spacers. I have to say I really like it and it's quite beefy. So I took the Terra out over the weekend and this evening after work on some trails where I could thrash it a little and man is this bike sweet! I love it more and more and more every time I ride it. I have to get some more aggressive tires on it but it sure is fun ripping around on the stock Saharas trying to keep them hooked up. Now I'm just waiting on the crash bars and a few other farkly items.View attachment 28710
The person you quoted is referring to his MotoSportz skid plate.Matching your impressions..
Just got off the phone with Altrider, they received the new skid plates only to find that they were manufactured incorrectly. The rep told me the engineers were assessing the situation and that we should hear something from them on Cafe Husky soon. If I didn't like my Altrider crash bars so much, I would probably throw a tantrum right now.
This is disappointing. While I can understand a snafu by itself...it's already after a 2 month delay from when I first ordered it. I'll wait patiently a bit longer for their reply....and reassess then. Meanwhile, I'll hold off on some other AltRider bits I was thinking about. They make great products, they're in my back yard, but if they keep having fulfillment issues...I hope they get it sorted out quickly.Just got off the phone with Altrider, they received the new skid plates only to find that they were manufactured incorrectly. If I were Jeremy, the owner, I would be mighty pissed right now. Especially after the whole crash bar fiasco.I know the owner of that place (Jeremy) personally. Really good people there. I'm sure they just had a manufacturing snafu which unfortunately happens despite your best intentions.
