  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Skid Plate For 2011 Txc 511

db511

Husqvarna
A Class
This is my first post, anyway, I am having a hard time finding an aftermarket skid plate. Wanting something with a little more beef and case protection.

I got a carbon fiber skid plate for my TE511 from P3 that is super light and well crafted. You have to have patience with Pirie because
they take forever. I just kept on his ass with e-mails and finally rec'd it. You can find a link to their website in the "Common Topics"/Aftermarket Resources
thread on this site. Also links for "Uptite" , "Turbo City" and others.

YOu could always try Touratech http://www.touratech-usa.com/Store/951/PN-410-5140/Aluminum-Skid-Plate-Husqvarna-TE-449-511-2011-on

Get the up-Tite, it's most functional because of all the holes in it allows the engine to run cooler and it won't carry water after creek crossings... Top quality to say the least !

And so you know when your plate arrives you might need to drill out the front mounting hole a bit. You did not go wrong !

George spent almost 45 minuts on the phone with me giving me advice in how to break the bike in, what kinds of oil works for him and just a ton of great info. Never did I feel like he was preaching to me. He mentioned the holes were snug. Funny thing was I havent done a COD order in ages, when I asked him the price for the goodies I ordered, he said "less than $1000.00"
I left a blank check at the office for the guys to fill in when the stuff arrives.
He definatly earned a new customer in me.

George is dedicated/experienced desert racer/old timer who is a strait shooter.... I had the exact conversations with him and he has totally earned my business too ! I asked him how much for his muffler and he told me as much as I can get lol.... I ordered 5 oil filters too along with the bash plate and got it all the next day.... I wrote a check for C.O.D. ...
Did you buy you bike out of Fresno ? Got mine from Tanner up there

Tanner tried but all the shop had were 2012's and at $10,500 I had to say thanks but no thanks. I then stumbled upon the ride more site from Husky and the dealer incentives for the 2011's. I called Tanner back but he couldnt round one up. My folks are in Prescott so I called the shop there and they had two. Out the door $7648. I sent pop to have a look and he secured one of them for me.
Tanner was totally cool when I called him back and told him what I was doing, he understood and told to bring it in when it got here, no hard feelings. I try not to piss off my neighbours. Sure wish the shop would have shipped one so he could pick up the sale.

Too funny, I also picked up 5 filters and (shhh) oil. As well as the axel nut and some other stuff I dont even remeber.

How is his pipe? He told me I couldnt have it until I promised him 100 miles of easy going breakin on my bike. I like the stock pipe but I suppose I should consider his.

I haven't seen his pipe yet , I might of bought one but decided to de-cat mine and so far I'm happy with it ... I bought the 2012 after talking to George and for the price difference n comparing the 11 , the 2012 model price difference is fair.... I can be really demanding on the suspension n frame / wheels and I like the upgraded rads and rear tail section/tail light sub fender design changes...... Tanner hooked me up price wise OTD on the 511 , he knew I had 100 Benies in my back pocket and time to drive to L.A. if he didn't :) I tried to get George to give me a cash price on one but never called me back so to fresno I went

Is there a cat in mine as well? THis is the insert between the muffler and pipe correct?
Your going to want to take it out.... Is a bit of work but worth the performance gains.... Drill out rivets/mid pipe side, pull out pressed in mid pipe from muffler to expose cat , I used a chop saw to cut as much of the cat as possible ( even this was a job) , I used a rip cut drill bit to chop the remaining cat , rivet back....

I just made a carbon fiber one for my bike this weekend turned out awesome. If there is interest I could make a few more, working on case covers too.Photo Feb 19, 3 49 51 PM.jpgPhoto Jan 31, 6 14 01 PM.jpg
