• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Those are some pretty good looking badlands ya got there.

It was a great day...lots of opuntia (beaver tail cactus) in full bloom...I'm sure you guys are used to lots of cactus...up here its like "WOW look its a cactus !!"

The colors are kinda vague with the cam....but great scenery...just the same

my nephew rode really well..I was impressed.....but still its tough cause you cant go full tilt boogie and attack....as I do have to stop to check his progress..

Last year he fouled his plug...and we had to walk out of there with his bike to the nearest road...it was 90F....I wasnt happy:foul:

poor kid probably learned a few new words to add to his vocabulary...after listening to me

Big thanks guys

I like that wide open terrain for a change. I know it's actually a bit more technical than the video shows, funny how it all looks flat with these on your helmet. What kind of camera are you using? It's good at not saturating the audio with wind noise.

Yes..theres lots of erosion cracks...rocks and holes..that will take you out...you cant put a wheel wrong for sure...

I am using the go hero 170 deg .....I think the sound is quite good with these cams:)

Just saw this thread for the first time.

Not only the cafe husky sticker, but the photobucket account name is thumpertalk2008 :D

Is that like mixing metaphors?

:eek:I imagine the first time you see the wood over the hole you get a little pucker factor going.

The first time....I was with a guy that thought he knew the area pretty good.....:doh:as I followed him on his KTM...we went flat out after we crossed the highway....then he slammed on the brakes.....and vanished from the horizon...right in front of me :shocked::shocked:

he was ok....I guess he forgot where the boards were:excuseme:

this sticker is a good design:thumbsup:.....uni directional......CH can be read even when inverted....

you must have been anticipating getting PR even with with the rider belly up in the weeds.....

I have two stickies left..I'll make sure my husky buddies each get one
