  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Silencer for pro curcuit pipe.

Nordman

Husqvarna
A Class
I didnt get stock exaust with my bike, but a pro circuit platinium pipe and a shorty silencer.
The bike makes quite a noise when i open here up. BRAAAAAP!!! :p
Im want to change it, because the bike is plated and i use it on roads where i live. Not ideal if people are trying to sleep if i want to take it for a ride when it starts to get late... And its not legal...
I can only find 2 silencer that goes on my pipe, its a 99mod.
Its the regular 304 (?) and a nature friendly silencer. I dont know if the nature friendly is quieter, or if its only the spark arrester that seperate those 2.
I also looked at fmf, but dont know if those silencer will fit my pipe. Dosent look like it..

Does anyone here used one of these silencer, or maybe a other silencer that will fit my bike.
Im know the bike will make some noise when i open here up, but when i ride on the road im under the rpm it really takes off. So im hoping one of these will help on the lower rpm range so the noiseoutput will be ok for public roads.

Would be super if someone could give me some input.
Thanks. :)

If u know a GOOD welder, I recommend the FMF Q Stealth silencer. You could get the stinger piece from the shorty welded to the actual muffler part of the FMF stealth with proper measurements. The stealth is nice and quiet, but has an amazing tone and good power delivery.

if the platinum can work with the stock silencer then the Q-stealth will fit right on it
i have one on a 99 360 and it sounds great, crisp without the crackle

I have a PC pipe a stock pipe and a FMF Gnarly with a Q stealth and I think they will both work with the stock silencer as well as the Q Stealth.

Dont know anybody that can weld, could do it my self. But do not have TIG and the MIG i have sucks.. :P
Dont think that the stock silencer fits the pipe.
Anyone use nature friendly?
Is it loud?

I have an 09 WR250 and the Stock silencer fits on the Gnarly, as well as the Pro Circuit outlet and so does the Q Stealth silencer. What I can't say for sure is if the mounting brackets of the Q-Stealth or the stock silencer will line up to the sub-frame when mounted to the PC pipe. My PC pipe is still new in the box waiting until I finish smashing up the Gnarly pipe. FYI the Q-Stealth is quieter especially when you are not ripping in the top of the powerband. The Q-Stealth did not add any performance other than saving a couple ounces of weight... if I had it to do again I would probably buy a Turbincore II.

Correct me if im wrong, but it looks like the pipes from 09 are different from before.

The Q-Stealth sounds like a silencer i would be happy with, but i dont like the idea of spending money on something that might not fit..
Anyone have a pic. so i can see how its on the bike, maybe there a other options other than weld?

They are different part numbers and probably because of different sub-frame however FMF does show a pipe for a 2000 WR250 and a turbincore silencer which has an internal spark arrestor. I don't know what differences a 99 has compared to a 2000 http://www.fmfracing.com/Products/BikeAsList/2000_HUSQVARNA_WR250

PC pipes only fit PC silencers & vice versa on the 09 up 250/300s!! so id imagine itd be the same for the older models as they didn't change the engine or subframe I don't think for a fair while. fmf fits with stock/the rest. r304 isn't too bad as long as you keep it packed tight & fresh but probly still too loud for what you want. 296 would be the go although ive never used/heard one personly. ul need a new silencer doug if you gonna use the PC pipe I hate to tell ya mate. be careful with the PC pipe as it sits very close to rear brake line(I melted 2!:banghead:, 1 right through & lost fluid the other through the plastic sheath & partially into braiding although its still hanging in there!). rubber grommet/joiner either splits or doesn't fit as PC stinger connection slightly bigger too which is a PIA. again that pipe cost me 2 of them:mad:!

Shawbagga, thanks for the heads up on the heat vs. brake line problem.

The PC pipe that I have fits the stock silencer as far as the slip joint so I'm sure it will also fit the FMF slip joint. I can't say if the silencer will line up to the mounting bolts. My PC pipe is a plain natural finished pipe with no coatings or paint on it. I really don't know what part # it is because I bought it new in a plain box from a private seller for $100.

Stock pipe and FMf pipe twist upwards giving it a mid pipe of sorts. This makes the silencer stingers short on stock and FMf pipes. PC pipes terminate near subframe bolts and require PC silencers with the long stingers.

I run a FMf TC2 on a stock pipe. It was said to fit a 99-04 WR250 but fits my 2014 stock pipe fine.

Can anyone tell me how much clearance they have between their pipe and radiator hose just up(about 2 inches) from the water pump. Stock pipe 09 wr250.
Hit a stump and the p3 carbon guard prevented any dings but the whole pipe moved and was pushing into the hose. With careful use of a big hammer on the flange I have got it to the point of only lightly kissing the hose but can't remember how close it used to be. Thanks

best part of 2 inches(maybe 40-50mm just looking at it) on my 10 wr300! just 'caress' it a little more until you have at least 5-10mm clearance is what id do then maybe wrap the hose with a another piece of old rad hose to protect it. big hammers are awesome & fix heaps of issues:D
