• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Side racks, where to buy?

Bringing up an old topic about the right side Wolfman rack and moving it in 2" to eliminate the gap if running a single exhaust can.

I found these photos of the standard position of the rack.

What I'm trying to understand is how the lower mount and oval will clear the white side panel if moved in? Maybe I'm just over complicating the issue and BR moto would not have any problem doing it..

Ken
Is there anyway you might have some time to photo your right side rack so that we can have BR moto duplicate it?

Excellent photos! Would it be possible to get a close up of how the front lower mount attaches to the subframe? I am preparing to build some racks for my TE511 and am looking for options....thanks!

These are pics of my modified right rack for a single exhaust. I had berg do several things. First move the rack inboard. I forget the exact dimension but I think I stated it earlier in the thread. I also had him shorten the bent leg that attaches to the forward sub-frame and also twist the bend down. This gets the tube behind the plastic side panel. Worked perfectly.

Thanks, these photos help immensely.

Would there be any way you could post a few photos of the side of the bike closely showing the lower mount on the non-exhaust side and where it attaches to the sub frame?

Are the saddle bag hoops the same height each side and similar in for/aft position? Or in other words, exactly the same location with the exception of one being closer to the sub frame?

Did he shorten/re-bend the rear brace bar that connects the two hoops behind the rear plate mount?

Sure, I will get pics tomorrow. The front mount is just like for the dual exhaust model though. Berg made a new rear brace to fit the modified setup and it fit perfectly. He does good work. The hoops are in the same position height wise and fore and aft.

An update guys.

I ended up buying my side racks from Barret Exhaust in Australia. I just picked up the package from the post office earlier today and will install it this evening when I'm home.
Great service from Barret Exhaust
Looks like I'm going to buy their exhausts in several months :D

Any chance that camera can snap some photos from the side to refresh Bergs memory?
