• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Shut Down Trails

I was going to ride northwest of Mojave, Ca today and found that the continuing construction of windmills has completely closed down the riding area. How can off roaders be accused of destroying the desert when the windmilll companies are creating roads and platforms for windmills by destroying the desert and leaving fences up at every turn? I'm no tree hugger but it seems to me this is doing more to destroy our riding areas than some dirt bikers exploring and exercising. California is closing trails at an alarming rate and now more lands are being destroyed in the name of alternative energy? What's next? Even with a plate there will be no trails left. Very upset and stunned to say the least.

Yeah we hear about how destructive our single track trails are here in the coast range which is a tree farm now and logged continuously (which I think is good on many levels). New roads and clear cuts everywhere. We are just really EZ targets for the haters.

Looks like fun. Perhaps we can start an International Six Day Urban Enduro (ISDUE)? Day one can be the south side of Chicago. There will be gas and ammo at the checkpoints.

The best est they have from '97 to 2012 is 20k, including 85 Golden Eagles & many other species on the endangered list. I'm sure it's many more

The windmills need fences around them so no one gets hit by the falling birds that they kill:rolleyes:
We have a road that connected two riding areas that is lined with those windmills. No fences either. So weird standing right under those giant blades!

We a MX track here littled with those. Is kinda weird.

Alley Sweeper Urban Enduro - I don't know if I should laugh or cry. Is this a glimpse into our future? Remember the song; "Is this all there is" ...... yikes!
