• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I planned on racing my 165 this weekend at the Bend ISDE but I keep thinking I should take the big boy 511. Not sure which i am faster on in the more open stuff like Bend. I'll probably take the 165 but??? The 165 is absolutely for sure going to the Idaho City ISDE Qualifier. thoughts? None of this really matters, both are very good, just thinking out loud.

if its more open, take the 511, tight woods take the 165.

it is some of both which is my delema. I like both bikes out there. The 511 has more power but the 165 is lighter and better suspension for racing. (TE511 is soft and stock)

I vote 165 by the end of the race you'll be alot fresher and able to push much harder. Id have to imagine anyway

Really depends on the rider, your conditioning, your riding style, the course ETC.... For me it would be a no brainer. (UNLESS it is really really open!) The 165 wins hands down. Bullet proof, light weight, simple, AWESOME handling, Ability to ride farther with less effort in my opinion.A 8 year old can kickstart it, pull the clutch in and twist the throttle! And a twelve year old can put it on a bike stand! I'm riding a 300 2-stroke this year and I am not even sure I can ride that faster then a 144! (If I am slower the 300 will be gone!) It is also fun closing in on bigger bikes with a screaming smallbore. I laugh when I hear guys saying did you see that guy on that Husky! FUN Factor off the charts!!!

Depends if you want to finish or get a big fat DNF 511? possable DNF No one really races one 165 proven winner

The 511 is solid as a freaking rock. Zero issues, and I have ridden it out at this place many times. Thats a non issue.

Well, a TXC511 won the 50 Expert class on this same terrain at the Fall Classic. The 2nd place guy on a KTM was 6 minutes behind.
The best part "pass anyone at will"

No DNF... Check
Proven Winner... Check
Fuel economy that easily handles a 50 mile loop ... Check

165 is easier to pick up, right?
