• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

should i buy it??

so i've been looking at an 2010 SMR510 w/ 4,000 miles on it. Full dual leo vince exhaust, Marchesini wheels, dynojet power comander 5, new sprocket and chain, beefed up fork suspension springs and water pump impeller, case guards, and a decompression block off to name most things. He was asking $7900 but agreed to $7500. bike looks great and clean, but my question is do you guys think this is overpriced? Would i be paying too much? I'd just like a few opinions so i dont go and make a huge mistake

thanks guys!

FWIW, I've had the 510 and now have a 449. I like the post 2011 bikes much better. There are still some leftover TE/ TXC out there , I would get a new bike and build it into a SMR.

If you do deside to get that 510, make sure you insure for the amount you paided. book value is around $5000-$5500ish (IMO)(remember it's 5 model years old. )

I think you are overpaying. I paid $5300 for a brand new 2009 SMR510 a few months ago. Dealer had it in the back for years.

yea i've kinda been getting that vibe as well. I've noticed alot of people selling these bikes have rebuilt top ends around 5k miles, is this something i should be worried about considering its at 4k. I'm new to the husky world :/

You got very lucky in finding that. But keep these prices in mind in regards to the bike he is looking at:

1. Marchesini wheelset $2800 (new)
2. Leo Vince full titanium dual system, I think these were $1250 when new, but LeoVince doesn't make them anymore and they are considered to be the aftermarket exhaust that flowed the most air. Basically almost unobtainable.
3. Power commander
4. Suspension work

Depending on the rest of the bike's condition and how well it has been cared for, I would feel comfortable paying $7k for it. The 2010 is the last of the true factory Italian supermotos. A dying breed.
