• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Shorty Clutch Lever

Do Husky levers interchange with any others? I like the feel and ease of my 09 WR250 cable clutch and usually use only 2 and sometimes 3 fingers to pull the clutch. The stock lever could stand to be a little shorter and then wouldn't interfere with the one or two fingers that are still holding on to the grip. I'm not looking to change the geometry of the lever and I'd rather not replace the whole assembly just the lever itself. Or even better does anyone make a short one for a Husky?

On my 2007 Husqvarna WR250 I installed Moose Shorty Levers (not sure if 2009 same).. Cheers.. :)

The m559-50-17 may work but when I look it up it shows to fit 93-98 KTM while some websites say it fits most mechanical clutches

All three part numbers above were taken off the part header card itself (not from a website).. I bought the levers from my local Husqvarna dealer Scott Rocher.. All lever above including the M559-50-17 do fit and what is installed on my 2007 Husqvarna WR250.. Yes they are all referenced as "to fit a KTM".. Hope that helps.. Cheers.. :)

Thanks, now all I need to confirm is that a 07 and an 09 interchange.

I ordered one for my 09 WR250 from my local dealer (not a Husky dealer since we don't have one) The dealer said "For 10 bucks I'll stock it if it doesn't fit your bike" , can't beat that deal. I'll post back on wether it fits or not.

It's official, I bought the Moose M559-50-17 and it fit my 09 WR250 perfectly. Thanks for the tip Fat Tire Flyer.

Just for future reference for others who may be looking for levers that will fit the Husky's layout. I bought 'ARC" levers and they fit and work great! They come in a wide variety of colors and you can also have them lazar engrave the Husky name and logo on them. They are a little pricy at around $65.00 US each, but you get a forward bending lever with an amazing warranty. I first bought the OEM long clutch lever, but almost snapped my pinky off when I laid her down. I now have a shorty that works great! I bent my brake lever and they gents at ARC replaced it without question and told me to bring it back if they are ever compromised. The bent levers did its job by bending and not breaking so I could get back home. Great product and a great warranty!

Check MotoPlastics for shorty levers.
