• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Short ride to the lake

Did a 30 km ride to Kamloops lake today, snow was at the higher elevation and then only in the shade. This is the north side of the lake which receives a lot of sun. Even with all the rain we've had, things were pretty dry. Good fast rip wide S/T stuff. I've had my ECU back from ScottyR for some time now. He re-flashed it for me. Man it's like having a brand new bike.:D This 510 just rips.
I tried a blue filter on my camera and this is how they turned out.

Best I can do with out going back and taking different pictures...maybe next weekend.

Would have liked to see it au natural it looks fantastic. I have skied in that part of the world and its great country-I bet riding would be amazing.

This is the best I can do with out going back and taking different pictures...maybe next weekend. It's a nice rip along the lake.

I used Paint Shop 9 to adjust the color balance.

We're going back next Sunday I'll just snap some more.:D

There are lots of free photo edit programs that will give you tint editing. That way you can take normal shots and fiddle with them in a non-permanent manner. I use Picasa3 from Google. Lotsa editing tools in that program including just about very color of the rainbow tint and then some, also gradient tinting.

What is a re-flashed ECU?

It changes the parameters of the computer that runs your bike.
Husky found better setting in 09 for the ECU (Engine Control Unit) and was offering them to early models in 08 which mine was. The bike seems to run a lot better. Does not back fire on deceleration any more either.

Reflash software
