• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Shineray (China) may be in negotiations to buy (KTM)Husqvarna's Varese Plant

5 mil eu is/seems to be, stupid low money for an entire production (almost new) facility.
Peirer really wants this labor/labor union mess off his plate, I would imagine ( I would too, he/they got all he wanted with what the Peirer industries has now with owning the marque)

Any news on this?

I seem to remember seeing somewhere that the deal was finalised, but can't find the link ATM. It was in an Italian newspaper, iirc. Then again, I may have it completely wrong, so do not quote me, definitely not! :p

That's a done deal.

Husqvarna crisis: the factory Biandronno the Chinese to Shineray?

The neverending story of the crisis Husqvarna has added a new chapter: it seems there was a meeting between the leaders of the Chinese group Shineray Motorcycle Company, active in the production of two-and four-wheeled vehicles, and those of Pierer Industrieproprietario Husqvarna (and KTM ). It seems it was signed a preliminary agreement for the purchase of the factory to 5 million euro.

Hope for 56 workers
A report about a possible solution to the crisis Husqvarna was the local press that it would be already signed a pre-agreement between the parties under which SRM, a subsidiary of Shineray, focus its efforts to the acquisition of the entire site Varese; according to the information site Varese News, however, on the table there would be a multi-year lease: 6 years with an option for a possible extension for a further 6 years. It is a source of hope for the remaining 56 workers Husqvarna (thirty employees, the rest of the workers is what remains after cutting 200 employees) that Moto Italy srl, a company controlled by the Austrian KTM owner of the structure and Biandronno, has already put in extraordinary layoff, a process that will last until September 22 (after this date will take the mobility and then dismissal): for them there would be a chance to be absorbed by the new Chinese-owned. Of course, applies the absolute caution: potential buyers are still studying the fate which will meet the site Varese; has not been notified of any business plan. It is known, however, that the interest of Shineray is for engines ex Husqvarna in view of the development of its production off-road. The next meeting between the parties, set for July 29 at the headquarters Univa (Union of Industrialists Varese), should clarify the future of the factory Cassinetta, ancje if next week is already scheduled a meeting at the Lombardy Region which probably Shineray asks industrial incentives

Done deal? From the article I read from previous post.......

"Possible solution to the crisis" "Pre-agreement" ? "focus it's efforts to the acquisition of entire site Varese"
"On the table a multi-year lease, 6 years with an option of possible extension..... ( a lease is not ownership)
"the absolute caution, potential buyers are still studying the fate which will meet Varese, has NOT been advised of any business plan"

An odd tone for a done deal. Maybe and hopefully there have been developments since that was written.

i dont know are that deal good, but i would love to know, that i can get some parts like for ten years still...

9 years minimum. The Chinese invest in developing countries around the world and generally treat them pretty well, much better than the USA does. So I'd say it's a good thing.
