• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Wonder what the rear wheel sensor is for? Traction control

- I really like the Sherco's

It's actually the speedo sensor... and maybe traction control. :p

nothing mentioned in the article, good eye, good tech call hmmm??

I will see if Magneti-Marelli has some info?

"Electronic fuel injection/digital engine management: Magneti Marelli"
that is from the house of Sherco,,,,maybe (most likely) part of the Marelli package for Ignition or injection timing????A Euro 3 thing to get her help pass emissions spec with an added sensor??? depending on wheel spin??? WE NEED TO KNOW****************************************! Kelly! You had to notice that sensor!! \
Anyway they are nicely finished machines.

A speedo sensor on the rear wheel? Not likely, that's what grabbed my attention.

They way some people ride bikes the front wheel never rotates :D

Thanks Robert!

I'm easy, toss whatever you want in the Off topic section - but it is intended to be for totally off topic stuff like cooking recipes, CarBQ recipes...

This thread could stay here, Newsroom, Main forum...

EDIT - moving to General (Main) forum

If i was to leave the Husky family, i would marry into the Shercos.

They just need a big daddy like BMW. Maybe Peugeot should buy them...

Here ya' go. Mine is an '07 510i.

I think for '09 they moved the sensor to the caliper bracket and above the swingarm.
There's a guy that makes a HD aluminum guard for them that are inclined to wank stuff hanging from the swingarm. :p

If you want to see anything else... just ask.
