• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Setup for Enduro race in December TE 610 i.e. Dual

Get rid of everything you don't need on the bike! 14/46 is what I run and I love it! It's a big bike for the enduros, but a big guy can pull it off.

I really only ride in the woods now and with the suspension set right makes a big difference! Good luck!

Today I used 14:48 and Iwould say it was to long because the ground was frozen with a little snow and I had a lot of problems to get grip on icy ramps. I used Dunlop Geomax tyres.

Have you tried the Michelin AC 10 tire? AC is for arctic conditions, it stays soft in cold weather. I love the tire! I use it in the summer and winter here in CT USA. It's great on a mix of terrain and its reversible.

it's the one on the left.

Did you win?
Did the TE610 survive?

BTW AC10 is a great tire, but is not FIM approved, so it might not be allowed in enduro races.

Where have you got the Sump/Engine guards from for the 610 ?

I'm in the UK and really struggling to find someone that will ship one here.

Thanks
Gav

@grandia
No I couldn't win because there were a lot of 200, 250, 300, 350 Enduro's. My 610 was with an XR 600 the biggest bike. You can watch a little video at Nikolausenduro A and B.

@Gav
You mean the skid plate? I ordered the skid plate by steahlyoffroad.com.

3850 Pioneer Rd
Medford OR 97501
Phone: 541.535.4896 or Toll Free in U.S. 800.800.2363

They sent by air mail to Germany. No problems. I must payed the german tax of 19 % at the custom office.

Look at the Hyde (Hyde Racing) bashplate - best IMHO. It is poly so is light, does not reverberate and amplify engine noise, slides over objects due to material, easy to fit, very good side protection, indestructible. See fitted in pic below.

Thanks very much for all your help.
I will look at getting one of the Hyde Skid plates in the new year after I pay off the credit card!

Hi all

I placed an order for one of the Hyde skid plates but haven't heard from the company. Money has been sent via paypal.
Tried to get in touch with them a couple of times now, however just wondering what your experiences were like with them ?

I didn't get a confirmation email from them that I recall.

Was the order placed with Hyde Racing USA?

:( Didn't know there was a UK Distributor!
I went through the US Site and ordered online. I sent a couple of emails chasing the order up and funnily enough just got a USPS Tracking number.

Order was placed 4th - 5th January and I think they have only just posted it after chasing them today 23rd January.

Not great service at all!

Actually just clicked on the Link Dom and the site isn't up any more. There's no registrar for the domain name now either so must have gone under.

Heres hoping it turns up some time this year!
