  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Setting odometer on 2012 TE to MPH or KMPH

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post something like this, but it's my first post.

I just wanted to put this out as a piece of info on the new 2012 TE models (I picked up a 2012 TE511 in November) that doesn't have the ignition key due to the new wiring setup on those models. My bike got to me set in KMPH, and of course that was fun trying to do KMPH to MPH conversions in my head while riding on the street. Manual was useless as it lists the use of the ignition key in the process, so I was able to track down the new process from Husky if anyone has the same problem of getting it changed to MPH:

1. Power on, set dash to proper screen (ODO on bottom right).
2. Power off, pull in clutch and hold throughout procedure.
3. Push and hold button on dash while powering up the ignition. Need a 3rd hand! (Thank god I had my son there to help).
4. After powering up, you should see dash toggle between km and mph, when mph flashes let up on dash button and press again to lock on mph.

great info******************************************************************************** Thank you for posting this, i never would of figured this sob out :)
