  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Friend of mine recently was going thru his 2009 txc 450 and it took him most of the week end to service/replace the shock linkage.bearings had become one with bushings.neglect is the reason for this, and it costs extra in the end.we recently serviced a customers 2009 te 450 and we did his linkage for him.the bike only had 750 miles so it was not a well used machine.linkage was also in rusted dirty condition, especially considering the low miles.Husky use a light grease at the factory that is not as water resistant as some.so my suggestion is all those 2008- 2010 bikes should get looked at.service them now and save time and money later.i know no one likes to do it but you wont believe how difficult it can be to freshen the linkage up if it left ignored for too long!Dan

Thanks for the tip! Serviced my shock recently and did the bearings at the same time. 2008 here, they were in good shape.

Did my 08 a little over a year ago. Thanks for the reminder Dan. I'll be getting to that in August when I get back from Colorado.

Very important for sure, did my 2008 TC450 just the other week, the 2006 WR250 was treated in January.
Both had some stuck rusted bearings, especially the lower ones (shock), did replace the ones necessary.
The WR250 got all bearings new, the lower shock bearing still has play in i (even ever so slightly, wrong tolerances I think, seems to be a common problem for Husky.
