    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Sedona mx880 with tubliss, anyone tested?

After talking to Jeff at Tubliss he mentioned his testers had high praise for the sedona 880 rear at 3psi. Sounds like its better than the at81 rc and was recommend as a do it all rear with tubliss.
Has anyone tried this or know of anyone who has? I liked the sedona 907 for technical trail riding and rocky conditions but looking for a go to rear set up this year. The tire is a 4ply soft intermediate but has softer knobs and a stiff side wall ( looks like a Pirelli extra) which make me think they wouldn't be all that great with a standard tube but would be sweet with tubliss.
 
Well ends up I'm my own guinea pig! Bought one of these the other day have it mounted but haven't ridden it yet 1' of snow yesterday lol.
First impression of the tire itself, super stiff sidewalls. Standing the tire up and standing on the bead it barely moves so the tread just conforms to the ground. Wasn't hard to install, used a couple quick grip clamps on one side to pinch tire together so it would set down in the rim and just wrenched i t on no prob. Jeff at tubliss said run it from 0-3 psi. I think its gonna be pretty nice. The pattern is like a pirelli extra or bridgestone. Jeff also claimed this tire to be the best all around tire they've tested so far.
 
I was able to do a few hours on this rear and I'm impressed so far! Its very stiff and takes a couple hours of riding to get broken in, I ran basically 0 psi for 3 hrs on and off over 2 days.
The conditions were sandy,ice, dirt,muddy slime, frozen underneath. I had an m59 front at 8psi.
My buddy had some mx51's with sheet metal screws, I got around better, felt great. I'll be back to give a better report.
 
i ran a Sedona 8?? the one with the knobs in rows running at an angle it was awesome of course it was flat in no time which made it better just like every tire i'v tried sense going tubliss i need a tire tuff e nuff to run FLAT ALL THE TIME haven't found it yet
 
winter is almost over, but if you want to snow ride in the future, look into the mitas winter friction. in my opinion they annihilate sheet metal screws. wish i wouldnt have dicked around with other methods and just bought them first to begin with...they are like magic!

Might have been the 907? It has that crazy tread pattern! I ran that in a couple hare scrambles and on rocks and hills that things grabs! Its up there with my fav hill tire the irc m5b! The 907 drawback was lack of aggressive side knobs so cornering, I thought , could be better.
The 887 mid hard I heard was good but this 880 was supposed to be the best "all around" tire Tubliss has tested so far. This 880 will run flat for at least three hours I know that! Jeff said 1-1.5 psi to flat is what this tire likes and so far so good!
A buddy and I are ironmaning the 9hr off road cup again. I'm running the m59 front and sedona 880 rear he's testing the Dunlop 909rr front and 736(?) Rear desert so well see how my $130 set does against his $200 set!
 
0 psi sounds absolutely nuts! I got a tubliss rear for Christmas that I'm waiting to wear out the tire that's on my 250XC before installing. I was figuring the AT81 rc but now you've got me second-guessing that. :thinking: Still, I can't imagine running that low. Our here in SoCal I was thinking 6-8 psi on the single-track rides and 8-10 out in the desert
 
Heck I run 6-8 on a Kenda 270 with a tube in the summer here in rocks and zero issues. Any lower than 6 and it started to de-bead.

Should call Tubliss and talk with Jeff, he's a super nice guy and will set you at ease using low psi! In your area another tire may work better and he'd know what to try! I'll have a report on how this tire works in the Oklahoma rocks!
Also this sedona 880 would be a terrible tire to use with a tube because its marketed as a soft terrain tire but once its broken in the knobs soften up and the stiff side wall just wouldn't probably be good. I'll run it at 1- 1.5 psi now that its broken in and see how that does even at these settings the tire didn't feel flat!
Like Jeff was saying when using low psi a little change makes a big difference like 20psi to 10psi is a 50% change going from 2psi to 1psi is also a 50% change! Guys are finding Exact psi numbers that work like 5 1/2psi for the Dunlop 739 not 6psi not 5 but 5 1/2 is the sweet spot according to Jeff, lol I thought it was crazy too!

I've yet to get a flat while riding but I'm sure our terrain is different but I always use "ride on" tire sealent and balancer when I mount the Tubliss I squeeze a bead along both sides of the red liner and rim then mount tire a push bead down and shoot a bead between bead and rim then shoot the rest in the tire itself (it gets messy when setting the bead so be outside with a hose lol). I've had all but one tire out of a dozen hold air on the first try. I use that ride on stuff because it dries clear and is easy to clean up and actually does balance the tire nicely!
 
southwest Missouri can rock with anybody you want'em we got'em flint, chert, limestone ,sharp n pointy, round n rolly or flat n slippery 1/4" up to the size of you car:eek: there free if you load'em yourself:lol: take all u want:thumbsup:
 
I've been wrestling with the idea of switching from tubes to either the TuBliss or a bib. I rarely get flats. I run heavy duty tubes @ 18psi. I have use Dunlop, Bridgestone, Sedona and Michelins. I ride mostly desert, average speeds in the upper twenties I do get into the woods now and then and just run the same tire set up.
 
he rides mostly desert, but yeah that is a few pounds. when it gets wet its hard to run more than 10 psi for me..
 
I run the same psi in all conditions. It tends to spin some on hard pack, never any trouble in mud or sand. The rocks are best just piont the bike and twist the throttle.:eek: I will mostly likely be very broken when I'm old.......I am kinda old......and broken. So don't do what I do.
 
You have to try the Golden Tyre Rocky 523, it is DOT legal. Says you can run tubeless tire if you want or it says you can run a tube or a mousse

I rode all weekend and it really works. Check out the video I posted in the newsroom section. I am headed up to Nampa Idaho in a few days for the National another place to test.
 
ajaxauto, I'll be there if you see me say hello. I'm in an old white dodge and run 2F on my bike. Should be parked by the Big Twin BMW easy up. I think they are serving breakfast burritos.
 
There are a few of us from so cal making the trip might need a little pitting help with the way the course is set up Looks like start to pit 1 is 30 then pit 1 to pit 2 another 30 then pit 2 to main 12 then main to finish like 40
So I could go start to 1 Gas up and go 42 miles to main Gas up and go to the finish missing pit 2
