• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Seat Concepts seat replacement

630mick

Husqvarna
A Class
Im after some advice from fellow 630 riders who have fitted a Seat Concepts seat to their 630.
Did you have to butcher up a stock seat? or is there a seat pan available from somewhere?? Apparently the seat comes from the factory with foam and cover installed allready,(and a hefty pricetag). Seems a shame to wreck a good seat........
Any info greatly appreciated.
Mick.

I felt funny taking my perfectly good seat cover and foam off of my seat that had only a couple of hundred miles of use. But the Seat Concepts foam and cover fit extremely well and was easy to install (it helps to have a pneumatic staple gun to install). Took me about a half hour to do the swap and my backside couldn't be happier. Now I have a perfectly good seat foam and cover that I can't seem to let go of.

I'm not sure about what pans they have but I know they carry for some models. Don't think twice about removeing you're factory cover, it will come off nicely and you can store it away for the future but once get on a Seat Concepts you'll never look back anyway. Great product, great people to work with and a nice price. What more could you ask?

they'll install it for you if you ship them your seat. $20 extra (and the add'l shipping costs) IIRC.

They'll also make a low version of it if you want, too.

They actually helped my wife put together a seat package for my birthday. They worked with her to get all the info they needed, helped select the right density of foam and cover materials and made several calls to her to verify exactely what they felt would be best for me. Then worked late into the evening to put it together and get it to her on time. It's rare that you find that kind of customer attention and detail. The seat couldn't have been better if I had gone their myself to have it measured for me personally. They are by far the best seat outfit around and at a very reasonable price. Some of the best money that can spend to improve you're ride.:thumbsup:

Can't tell you anything other than what has allready been mentioned and I too would say you won't miss the old 2X4 at all.

I also had them make up a custom version for my girlfirend that is height challenged and she is very happy with the results. Both width and height of the seat were revised to meet the expected outcome.

+1 on just do it.

Its actually quite fun once you get started. I used a regular staple gun. Some of the staples didn't go through, but I found if I applied strong pressure it got the job done. When it came to stapling, I decided to use the same approach I use when stretching a canvas (e.g. see this how-to). It worked out well. No wrinkles or bumps. With the new seat I doubled my comfortable ride distance. I also purchased an Airhawk Cruiser Pillion, which added a bit more comfort, but not as much as the Seat Concepts seat.

I sent them my seat and they sent it back all shiny and new. Cost me $25 and shipping. I had them add 1.5 inches and it worked out great. I only had about 200 miles on the bike at the time. I also didn't feel wierd about ditching those shiny low milage mufflers for the new FMF.... If your stock seat isn't comfortable then it's of no use to you anyway. Giterdun your but will thank you.
