    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Seat concepts seat install ?

I installed a gripper seat on mt te310 tonight and have a few questions. Did anyone else find the foam a bit too long at the back? It looks maybe 3/8" to long. If so did you trim it down any? After the seat was covered it pretty hard to get the seat back on the bike, the seat pan needs to bend up enough to fit but the fastener is tough to lock down.

I have put a couple of their seats on and had some trimming in the back, but not a 310 seat.
I would pull the staples and do what it needs. The fabric is very tough and can take multiple re-stapling without tearing.
 
I installed the Seat Concept along with a larger IMS gas tank. Both seat & tank were very close to fitting well, however a bit of “adjustment” was required.

Note: I had to grind the seat base middle section (second photo) to clear the larger gas tank....not much but now nothing rubs.

I’m thinking that removing the excess seat material may or may not solve your problem…..so I am throwing out the suggestion to simply file the forward plastic seat mounting notch to allow the seat to slide forward when attached…assuming the aft 2 mounting points will allow the base to do so.

In the end everything fits perfect, tight and the rear seat base rests on the frame rails as they should.

Is that a lowered seat?
 
My 511 and 04 CR125 seat fit perfect. My GG seat was long before I sent it to them and asked them to make it slightly shorter in the rear to fit better which they did and it is perfect too. LOVE those seats. The one on my CR125 is for sure a performance upgrade as well as it really locks you in position on hills and such. Those guys rock.
 
I ended up trimming the plastic on the 2 seat middle positions that Dale pointd out. The seat slid forward enough to at least take the bow out as well as make latching the seat down easier.

I glued the foam down with 3m77 so the seat form is all the way forward. The overall length of the seat foam and cover are a bit long.

It would have been nice if S.C. Had sewn around the latch lock and added the carbon material at the end of the seat.

I very much agree. Send them that info. They are real good peeps and would like your input.
