  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Scary Fast Power now...Can ya help?

Hey I have the 07 510 SMR, I'd wanted to do this easy(I'd thought) upgrade with this Scary Fast PowerNow plus hop up. This is proving to be less than easy due to an unmanned phone at the company:banghead:/anyone returning msgs left and nobody being able to answer the fitment question that I have. I know the product does what it claims and have heard nothing but good things.

So, do you think there would be an issue using the 05 Power Now Plus #85-0736(see the above link) on my 07 SMR510, its essentially the same motor is it NOT?

I have no idea, so I brought it to you guys!

Thank you

I bought a scary fast years ago for my 2006 te250, it was labeled '2005' for that model. Information is a bit scarce on the product for sure. I called up Halls cycles and the person that answered knew all about 'what fit what'. I ordered from them and it came quickly.

Thanks Dean,

Halls Cycle was that an online shop or your local dealer?

What determins which model would be the bore of the carb for the "plus" and whether the air venturi is removeable or fixed on that model for the "non-'plus'". The model you are ordering is the 85-0736 which is listed for the 05' TE450 and TE510, and the 06, 07 TE450. This model is also listed for other bikes which have 41mm FCR carbs. Your bike is listed to have a 41mm carb. SO it should work fine. I don't know why they didn't list all the bikes their part fits- I assume they didn't test or retrofit any to verify.

I have no expirience with any of these powerveins or scarynows however, I have looked at them and read about them. Supposed to help in the low end with larger carb bores. IN theory it works if you don't think about it too much. The slide itself kinda does the same thing. But I can imagin it helping in low vacume situations with quick throttle turns.

Just as stated use the product that matches the carb (41mm FCR), I proto'd the KTM version for the 41mm FCR on my 06TE450 with no issues, they said if didnot work they would charge me a small restock fee (no issue because it fit fine)but even after helping them to add specific Husky installation into they were slow to include the bike onto the usable on list. My 08 has PN and PN+ installed into the FCR41,,,,the P/Ns I used..?????
If I can find them again I'll post up.

PS the Power now things help the bike become a tractor, especially in very ugly terrain, my combo is the JD jetting kit, with AP o-ring installed with the PN,PN+ and the now outdated Scary fast AP power shot type device(deemed unecessary by many)
been using PN since early 2006.
One of my mech friends installed them PN PN+ in his WR450 Yam and did not believe that they really worked as well as they did, he R&Rd them like 3 times just to really verify them and was floored at what a difference it made in his bike.

I am not 100% sure but I believe engineer Wade Wilcox is the man behind the PN

Thank you!

This was the details I was looking for, to the letter,

This helps a ton! As far as the performance aspects, well worth the $100, it helps to reduce the turbulance of the air coming in. Improves low end and top end throttle.

looks like they do have listed for both PN and PN+ 06-07 TE450 is the listing .As the 450/510 models carb config has not changed it should work through until now as long as its a 450/510 with a carb, they are all Keihin FCR41mm MX carbs.
Good luck you will like this mod, its a seat of the pants instant gratification mod.
