• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Who's in? I somehow made the cut for row 2, so yell when you pass me.

I saw Dwight (I'm gonna have to introduce myself this time) on row 14 iirc.

Who else is attending the Sandlapper ? I should be there late Friday Afternoon. Got the WR165 ready !

Sorry guys, I sucked. Couldn't seem to do anything right. The bike handled and ran great. I stalled several times in the mud and sand. I got lost and hung up on a barbed wire fence. I got stuck once. I had a small log / tree limb flip up and catch my rear tire (I think) and pole vaulted me and the bike to a easy crash. In the last section I felt like I had finally pulled it together and as moving then the front wheel hit a hidden stump in the sand / pine straw and I endoed big time. Plastic everwhere. I even broke my clutch bracket so I had no clutch. I had to get the bike going with no clutch and while I was slower and more careful not to stall the bike pulled me along like a champ in the very tight woods. I will be ordering from Hall's this week, the following parts. Clutch lever assembly complete, both side number plates, rear fender, both tank covers, both radiator louvers and left fork guard. I DIDN'T BREAK THE FRONT FENDER OR HEADLIGHT or Radiators ! First time since running bark busters that I have broken a clutch bracket.
The bike continues to amaze me on the power and torque.

I finally managed to meet the infamous Vinduro Saturday as he was hanging out at tech inspection. What caught my eye was that sweet WB165!

I managed to get row 2 and at first I was a little worried about getting lost due to the trail not being ran in very well. Ran ok during the first test, very muddy/wet/slick, the type of conditions that I like! Second test didn't treat me as well, my bike was kicking pretty badly and my bike was shutting off a lot. Narrowed it down to clutch drag, made a few OTF adjustments an felt better towards the end. Made a few suspension adjustments at the gas stop and the bike settled down a lot. Felt very fast in the last B section until my bike found a stump I didn't see and nearly ended my day. Somehow the bike saved me from any damage (Have I mentioned how much I love my WR?).

Overall a great race, I finished 5th in 30+B and 16th B overall. Not bad since it was only my second national in the B ranks. Looking forward to our local HS series starting back at the end of the month so I can get my Husky on!
