• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

this is about 95% of the new layout, kind of an XC track. They had it well watered (not like in the H-Cam quad vid) and in my rating it gets a 9 for safe/fun/flow/ and even with all the elevation drop offs and climbs good for my daughter (she loved it on the TTR125). And with my enduro/plush suspension it was just fine. All natural with just 3 infield very safe,1 pinned jump and 2 easy table tops. SD is really in a track growth period.....I guess like the 70s again!! A large group of locals (knew alot of people there). LR was the god father of the day. DD was there with the CR80 and in full HRC gear!!!

Quick note to add, there were Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Aprilia, Husaberg, Beta, Husqvarna, TM, KTM in attendance and on the course at this event. That was very cool

oh yeah and some vintage stuff Hodaka, CZ, a Dave Thorpe SR500 Kaw old Huskys too

I went so fast, that I'm riding out of my own picture!:p Not!!!

But it was a blast and very nostalgic for me, as the last time I was on a race track at Live Oak Springs was 34 years ago on my trusty 125 Pursang. I was in a race and actually trying to go fast!

Is this the same track as the old Manzanita GP,or close to it?I remember racing that twice in the early 80's when I was kid.

Dang, girl:eek: You look like you're ready to go pro in that red and white gear  It'll look good when you're on the Husky, too!

Those old photos are really cool! Were you racing a womens class?

No, it's a different one. The Manzanita (thanks for reminding me; I forgot that that was the name of it) track is the one in the black and white photo above. This new track is a completely different one south of the old highway 80. In fact you can see it right from the highway.

Stolen Bike Recovered

If anybody heard about the guy who got his 2009 Husaberg FE450 stolen in the early morning hours of July 5th at Live Oak Springs Resort (Across the street from the OakTown GP track, it has been recovered.

Heard the local Highway Patrol Officers worked their arses off and yesterday arrested two locals for auto theft and other charges. Oh.. and recovered a brand new Hussyberg FE450.

Also heard the local "chippis" are hard core dirtbikers. If your out in that area riding and see them around, stop by, say hi and introduce yourselves.

Mitch

That is truly awesome Mitch! :applause:

Sounds like things worked out, I hope the bikes were in good condition and not damaged.
