  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

running a power commander v on a 2010 te 250

husky bom

Husqvarna
A Class
att......i have just got a power commander v and will be hooking it up ...just after a bit of info on what it will do......will the std map in the power commander clean up the efi .........how will it run??????????? on the std map that is in the power commander???????....i have 2 weeks untill a mate helps me with a map that he has on his power commander

thanks
H.B

all im asking is will the std power commander map clean up the efi down low ie........slight bog/flat spot around 2000 rpm to 3000 rpm

thanks
H.B

well have just hooked up my pcv loaded a map and run the bike on stand....... WOW the first thing i noted was how clean it ran...... crisp throttle off idle no bog......and free reved nice crisp throttle every were through the rev range so i think this will be great will take for a test/ride and do some small adjustments if need be in a few hrs.......... will post back in 7hrs

ps...my bike ran very good on the fuel values on the husky ecu...... so now this will be just a small clean up across the fuel/rev range buy fitting a pcv

Congratulations :)

Yes the power commander will indeed help things out, if you do not have an auto tune module then you could use the stock map, or if you are really interested in making it run really well then you could go to one of these fine tuning centers near you.. but might cost as much as an auto tune - not sure, never priced that

Well testing is done the power commander is a great thing.......did some testing with the stock dyno map and it was good then did a back to back test with the stock dyno map and a map that was done by a mate......thanks ben.... and fine tuned well the new map is so good WOW it is so snappy crisp throttle through the whole rev range and is like a new bike more power better to ride and im lovin it............single track weapon....
this is what riding a husky 250 is all about
ps... i think its money well spent and no need for auto tune...imo..

pcv fine tuned.....no auto tune
98 ron petrol
twin air air filter
exhaust bung out
cr9eb plug
12/51 gearing
100/100/18 rear tyre...great hookup now

cheers

well the power cammander v got the better of me....i had a map that i put in and a mate did some fine tuning with it and it felt very good across the rev range ......

well was talking with the husky race team and thay said the only way to get it 100% was to get it dyno tuned at a pcv tuning place so i did this is what team husky doing with there pcv

so i took it to get dyno tuned and a custom map for my bike boy what a diffarance this is what i should have done from the start...made 3hp more thats nearly 10% more

loading maps that are on the net or that are for other bikes are no good and can rob you bike of hp and will only be about 70% better 30% worse this was the case with me buy putting a map and trying to fine tune it i went backwards lost 1hp from stock husky efi settings and this is funny because it felt great... how we can get it wrong dynos dont lie........... this is why some people say i loaded a map from the net for my bike and it still has a flat spot or did not work that good....well it is not for you bike and its not ment to work........im not being rude by not putting my map up because it wont work for any bike but mine and dont want people saying it is no good and did not work.......

hear are my dyno readings........stock engine with race kit fitted 2010 te 250

1....my own fine tuned pcv map
max power=27.39hp max torque=15.68ft-lbs

2....a re zero pcv map
max power=28.82hp max torque=16.55ft-lbs

3....my custom pcv map
max power=30.41hp max torque=17.22ft-lbs

so at the end of the day it pays to get it dyno tuned if you have a power commander and yes i did have to drivr 3hrs to get it done it was worth it

cheers

Glad you got the results you did. The sad thing is that when you pay that much for a bike. You should not have to spend a bunch more $ and time to get it to run optimally.

due to the change to the exhaust to non compliant - and no sensor you need to re tune
but you are right HF flat spots shouldnt be there

HB - Did you take out the catalytic converter? - that restricts it doesnt it?

Those power figure are similar to the 09 model Ive seen posted ( which were on a road tyre)

Just out of interest whats the cost for the power commander?

yep cat out it dose restrict it

as for power figures with dyno's im not into a hp debate .......thay dont all read the same........ but will be close .........as long as you get a result and a nice power curve with your bike that is all that matters

note..my bike stock engine...stock exhaust bung removed .....ie power up kit
i am not even going to put a exhaust on now because this bike is great to ride crack the throttle of idle and up comes the wheel it easer to ride

power commander $300 and $250 for a custom dyno map this is a better bang for your buck .....cheeper than a slipon exhaust with better power results and nice power curve

cheers

Did you have any stock figures? - wondering what max power was at what rpm and what the PC V rpm figure was
